The red button is only for the battery check and doesn't light up the meter in the finder with lightmeter (that one uses 7 led's for indication). The lightmeter in the prismfinder is activated by a button on the finder. By the way, you got the (dummy) film the wrong way around in the holder, that way you'll be taking pictures on the backing paper in stead of the film.

Regarding the film inserts, you can use the 220 versions with 120 film just fine, but the counter will obviously be off. You can remove a piece on the side of the film insert using a small screwdriver, and that will limit the film counter to 15 (vs. 30 for 220-film rolls).

That was a very very comprehensive review of the Mamiya 645! I have my analog photography vlog too! More power!

How long is the average delivery time to Australia?

I think with the sharp prices increases of film the 645 format will become more popular. You have to ask yourself do I really need a 6x9 negative?

Sorry for choosing this VDO for my comment: I like all Jeff's reviews, I bought a camera ( Aires iiic) from his store more than 2 weeks ago but, so far, haven't received yet. He gave me an incorrect tracking number and I tried to contact him asking for the right one but he never reply. What a bad experience to shop with Janpan-Vintage-Camera online store !
