I remember back in ‘02 Utah got hit with 56” one night. My friend from Oklahoma was in town. We were so eager to get up to Brighton. I literally slid my truck off the canyon road. We said fuck it, left the truck, then hitched the rest of the way. Best pow day ever!

Did you get to see the Sherwans while you where up there? It’s the mountain close to Mammoth with the huge chute coming all the way down it? A guy went down it while I was there. Looked fun as hell!

Got to be there for this legendary day as well! 22 and 25 were bonkers in the afternoon. Bummer we didn’t cross paths. I was crushing the same runs as you guys. Glad you scored. Hope they let you through the pass. Next time hopefully you get the top open. It was insanity with the avalanche bombing. 15-20’ cornice walls off the ridge line.

I was there that day, hitting chair 25 Wednesday and then ESPECIALLY all day Thursday, which was EVEN BETTER! It was EPIC! I never thought Mammoth could out-pow Brighton and Utah like it was last month, but it did this week! Best runs of my life so far…

@@CaseyWillax Yeah, that same area gave me my own “wedgie” last March and abruptly sat me down and broke me elbow. I hadn’t had a good trip up to Mammoth since then and was thinking of throwing in the towel. Monday of that week was makeup day with Mammoth and firmer conditions. Didn’t see any of that in Utah last month. Then the mountain threw in all that extra pow-love Wednesday and Thursday. So I’m not quitting. Now all I have to do is learn how to butter extraterrestrial like your boy Dale did in that last Park City edit. That stuff was insane! As for the Wedge, it would be cool to see you skimboard that. Just an idea. Happy Easter to you and your crew!

You think there were heavy lift lines cuz of some kinda spring break? To me that's not acceptable on a Wednesday. I'm mainly asking cuz it's season pass buying time and after not buying epic or ikon for lines like that on a random weekday, I find myself in a position where I may have to buy one of those. But if there was a decent reason for those lines like lifts were shut down or a big spring break crowd or a combination then that's different.

Most of the lifts were shut down when they opened in the morning as they dug out from the storm(s). That, and there was gnarly wind mid mountain and up top, plus yes, spring break. Combine that with all time high snow, and you get a few extra minutes waiting in the lifts that were open, all considered, they did a good job, we didn’t wait any longer than 15-20 mins max, worst case, but we knew where to go to minimize waits. As lifts opened, the waits dropped dramatically. FYI, I was up there for 10 days during this run.
