United get breaks and bad calls like everyone. So do City. The United penalty was harsh but he had his arms wide and it didn't hit his body first. It was not a wrong call. Good point. I still don't understand why VAR Team OR the reviewing ref are even able to get things "wrong". Shouldn't clear game rules plus video review lead to one correct outcome every time? Or is it still super subjective and easy to corrupt? I don't know enough about it to take a position, but it does seem counterintuitive.

Actually the ref always has the final say. VAR can only either support the refs decision on field or ask him to review his decision if he says he missed something. That free kick is problematic as it can't interfere for a corner and nly if it decides it should be a pen. The problem then the ref can say whilst play goes on that he doesn't want to review it as its ball to hand. Considering he missed the corner it's easier for him to not go back than to stop play admitting he missed the whole incident or deliberately over looked it.

He is at VAR's mercy. VAR check things first. VAR are the ones that are not letting Oliver make a concrete decision.

Yes, him being the vice president gives him some power over the UAE, and the Royal family, but at the end of the day, City is owned by a company belonging to the vice president, not the Royal family themselves. I say this from a legal stance, as City have confirmed they are not documented or recorded as state owned. The Royal family having power over them has to do with the owner's personal decisions, not them.

Football has become a complete clown show. Man city just straight up cheating but the Prem is too scared to do anything about it. And in LaLiga at el clasico, the way they "can't afford" goal line tech, why the Camavinga foul on Yamal wasn't a red but Araujo's in the UCL was. It's embarrassing that the big clubs can't accept losing or leagues not farming as much money as possible, it's just stupid.

Even yesterday against Brighton. The Ref gave all the momentous decisions to city, ignore fouls against Brighton, ignored 2 clear penalties, but meanwhile as soon as city players fell, or slipped, he gave a foul IMMEDIATELY!! It wasn’t Oliver but it’s the same oro-city m behaviour that was exhibited. Has anybody noticed they hardly go to the VAR anymore? They have slowly removed the use of VAR, right under our noses.
