I'm a Quality Engineer for a large bore piston manufacturer in the US. We've made them as large as 640mm in diameter in the past. Our largest now is about 300mm. It's really cool stuff

640 must have been quite a lump, I'd love to see that beside the pistons out of my bikes. Biggest is only 71 or 72mm 😂

@@juliusadams1931 Well, the engine at the beginning is a 14V 48/60 which makes 1050 kW per cylinder, so a total of 14700 kW, now it depends if you use the engine as a propulsion engine for a ships propeller, where you get 500 rpm or as a diesel electric system, where you drive a generator. For 50 Hz grid you would also have 500 rpm, for 60 Hz it would be 514 rpm. Theoretic torque (without any loses, just pure calculation) for 500 rpm = 280749 Nm, 514 rpm = 273102 Nm. Regarding the turbines I have no information and the turbocharger compressor wheel at the end is difficult to say which one it could be due to the camera angle and the position of the person behind.

All this kilotons bullshit rasy change to Gasturbine engine. Cheaper. Better qualitity. Small metalls. Repair timing not 2000 houts minimum 7000 hours. Unbeliviable. Civilization bullshit now.
