This was my father in law. Shit went down with my family when I was a kid and my girlfriends (now wife’s) father let me stay with them while I went to school. A little while after graduating, and slightly before I went to some college courses, our friend told us about a kitten she had that her parent’s were going to drown because they couldn’t get rid of it. We ended up taking it while getting a “well see” and a “hell no, never in my house” from my GF’s parents. Turns out about a month after getting the cat (he always stayed in our room because dad didn’t want it anywhere else) when we came home we went to our room and the cat was missing. After searching our room from top to bottom we decided to search the house just in case. Turns out my GF’s dad, the one who said hell no, was cuddling with him on the couch. The cat passed out in his arms.

I was one of the people who don't want pet, and now I have to remind the person who want the pet to actually look after it, and to this day I still have to remind them to feed the dog, because sometimes they just skip it meal, I don't want pet because I don't have the commitment to look after it. And other should be aware of this as well, instead of expecting other people to always help you take care of someone you want. It doesn't always work out.
