The Fort Lee NJ incident was pretty tough to get through, but it does give an example of how trying times can be for police officers. Definitely agree that conversations and discussions surrounding these types of events should be open and respectful.

According to Wikipedia, the last Crown Vic Police Interceptor was produced in August 2011. Just how old and beat up is that car that it was finally retired from service at this late date. I was always astounded at how quickly a new Crown Vic degenerated into a pile of barely functioning parts once our transport guys got ahold of them. Being a former LEO, you have to have some idea just how much abuse this poor machine has gone through.

knew an EMS person who told me how they had to watch from the ambulance driver seat as some wife succumbed to her shotgun injuries, unable to even pull further into the driveway, as the psychotic husband was still armed... was the only time I heard in person of someone's experience as a first responder.

@@Suzuki_Hiakura I was a Firefighter/Paramedic for 36 years. I saw this kind of thing quite a few times. And no, we didn’t get counseling, the EAP program was one of the first things cut during the recession in 2008-2012. Just suck it up and up get back to work. Google the number of first responder suicides.

@@neffyg35 EMS still have to pick up decapitated heads during car accidents. I knew one who broke when had to clean up a plain crash and had to collect body pieces to put in the correct owners corresponding bag and body parts in trees. He went to truck driving after that.

This isn't a daily occurrence and I doubt these were your standard highway patrol units. Likely specialised like an anti terrorism unit. This kind of thing, even though it's on the news pretty often, is fairly rare for any one policeman to encounter.

You're best move is to try to talk, maybe say you can't let go... depends on a lot, I suggest watch the raw footage then come to a conclusion.

I doubt it,, maybe a mixed martial artist squad with the right gear/armor to counter knives. (once the ninja tutles have the paranoia victim apprehended, they can be detained for long enough to be given some vitamins, detox, and THEN start to hear things from maybe a social-work propoganda video) ... Technically EVERYONE who is dangerous could be addressed by psychologists with adequate resources for re-education ,, but just because someone needs help doesn't mean they're going to be available to receive it before their blind fear has them attack with a deadly weapon.

Just for clarification I believe the footage with the bad audio is from the X2 taser camera. The laser and camera are underneath the cartridge bay and you can see the laser on the officers hand momentarily.

I had an old retired police interceptor and it was fun to drive. I didn’t realize how much faster it was than other cars until I pulled off from a light and was in front of everyone else by a few car lengths

I am very confident that second video was a taser cam. Not only do the lines stay track perfectly with the camera but it moves with the dides arm. Pretty cool 🤷♂️

still screams cheap as cheap gets, you can knock the average cellphone around and the camera/+mic doesnt absolutely shit the bed like a kid who thought a laxative bar was just a chocolate bar gopros can sit submerged for who knows how long and still keep the sd card safe (given it has a case) so its just sorta poo poo ass that cops get the equivalent of papier mache made in a port_a_potty in quality terms of their gear

It looks like the camera is on the tazer. At 7:04 you can see the yellow body of the tazer is locked in frame

It's not a bodycam. It's the built in camera on the taser so it's pretty small.
