I had an imaginary friend when I was 4, but I deep down knew that she wasn’t real at all and that I could only ‘talk’ to her while I was alone. She was an elf, her name was Leia and she was a forest guardian. Her family died because their part of the forest they’re meant to protect was destroyed, and luckily she and her brother was the only one they had chosen to survive. Yes, I had a whole backstory for this. :]

@@jayflash0074 it does, I have friends and a sibling who went to therapy for a different and that helped, and for op, kids often have imaginary friends, but they usually stop after a little while, so don’t send them to therapy for that unless they’re like, 10 and up, because that’s when it gets weird (yeah that seems older than it should be but speaking from experience, kids mature differently but the imaginary friend thing should be completely gone by that age)

I don't have imaginary friends never have but I do think out loud to myself and have full blown conversations. It's helped me understand and better myself. No one should understand me more than me and thinking out loud is what saved me. 😘

His wife could have died recently and the trauma is causing him to "hallucinate" so he does have to face reality, his mind could be protecting him, I've heard of a few cases like that where patients will go out of their way to forget the trauma and hold on to what's left and sometimes manifesting their partners again.
