Between Ash and Peppa from Stanford's gymnastics team, (as seen on Ian Gunther's channel) certain men really ARE good at both men's and women's gymnastics!

Honestly, I hope not. I've fantasized about men doing beam, but that would rly take something unique away from women's gymnastics. Plus, men may get way better and more difficulty on beam than women after a while, and then the women on beam is an after thought. Like if men dismount with a double double, then Simones double double is not as unique and significant. Just IMO

@@darklight1030unlikely, it would take away from women’s gymnastics and it’s unlikely to ever become part of the men’s apparatus. If you look at the skills and abilities you’d need to train for beam, it’s not complementary with how men’s gymnasts train on their other apparatus. With men already having 6 apparatus, it doesn’t make sense to train the precision and foot balance necessary for beam, competitively. Also, since turns and leap series are not currently within MAG really, you’d likely see those requirements change . Probably would see flairs instead of turns? I’m always pro-evolution of gymnastics as a sport, but I wouldn’t be concerned about men changing or taking away from how beam apparatus is competed. There are men’s gymnasts who have done beam routines for exhibitions at meets. Always cool to see.
