An international singing sensation - As Dave Letterman was instructed to introduce Tony Clifton back in the day! Dave said it with a smirk and a look that said "I can't believe I'm saying this".
@tuggspeadman7612 жыл бұрын
I could only imagine if Andy was alive today how funny he would and could be because of all the social media platforms. He wouldn't have to worry about a studio calling the shots. This movie is great because it introduced me to Andy's comedy. I didn't know much about him because he passed away when I was a little kid. I'm very late to Andy's comedy but better late than never.

With this ridiculous social media thing he would not be more than just another prank guy. Social media remover real talent.

You could be right. I racked my brain before responding and can't thing one. Steve Martin, Martin Short and Chevy Chase, come a distant second.

WOW I didn’t even recognize Paul Giamatti in the audience ! That whole act took me by surprise, what a great gag. Paul is a phenomenal actor and of course so is Danny DeVito. Jim Carrey’s impression was spot on.

This was my favorite part, for me one of the best throwaway lines and performances was the old guy who said “Godamn I paid 10 bucks for that cigar”… his delivery was just amazing… the outrage! I love it
@Rob20683 жыл бұрын
There actually was a Bob Gorsky at a tony Clifton show. And clifton did accuse him of faking his last name as if he was trying to do polish humor. And tony did ask him if he wanted to see some humor and dumped a glass of water on his head! First he threw gorsky off the stage. Then he invited him back on and dumped the water on his head!

Dir. Milos Forman RIP 04/2018...11 Films (most well known are the ones in his Living in the USA period, One Flew Over the Cuckoos Nest-1975, Amadeus - 1984 and later ones), associated with the Czechoslovak 'New Wave' school of filmaking.

I saw the Great Man perform at a Hurricane Katrina benefit. He had three or four "Cliftonettes" and totally favored one (named Keely, probably after Keely Smith) who looked like she was about 14 years old. They passed out shots of Jack during intermission.

I don't know. I see the strengths of both. Andy was the better singer. I'd say, Andy's Tony was a full-on bully; Bob's Tony was more of a muttering, unintelligent lowlife. I found them both exceedingly entertaining.
