An issue with his frontal lobe causes a patient to uncontrollably keep speaking his mind and it gets him in some sticky situations.
From House M.D. Season 5 Episode 17 'The Social Contract' - House and the team take on the case of Nick, a book editor who loses his inhibition and starts insulting co-workers at a dinner party one night before falling ill. The team realises Nick has frontal lobe inhibition, which has caused him to lose his filter and vocalise all of his innermost thoughts, resulting in extremely insulting outbursts.
House (2004) Dr House, an ingenious and unsociable physician who flouts hospital rules, clashes with fellow doctors and his assistants as he comes up with controversial hypotheses about his patients' illnesses.

It's not that he can't stop telling the truth, it's that his frontal lobe dysfunction makes him unable to differentiate between thoughts and speech. So it's not like he has something that makes it impossible for him to lie. He just blabs out whatever he may be thinking at that time freely and without any filter or second thought at all.

That, makes a lot more sense honestly. Most of these things hes saying arent things he was asked to talk about or were brought up by someone that would make him have to lie. This all sounds like internal dialogue. Some of it was just stuff he kinda blurted out

No, House tells the truth only when he needs it (some mindgame or to get something out of this) OR when people annoyed him into it. Otherwise, he pretty much ''reings'' it as he doesn't care enough to go around telling the truth or in fact talking to people at all.

it's not "he can't stop telling the truth," it's "he can't stop telling what he's thinking." These are not unexpected truth-bombs, it`s him losing his filter and showing everyone his true thoughts. Interestingly, his true thoughts are full of dirt and cynicism and contempt for others. Sometimes you want people around you to lose such a filter. You'll find out who to throw out from your life.

Thank you for that. Most people shouldn't vote until they know all the candidates well, and have a firm grasp of the issues. The more people vote, the more fair elections become. Imagine if only 1000 people chose to vote in the USA: it doesn't represent even 1% of the entire population. That's why it's important that everyone votes, so people are elected based on what the MAJORITY wants. If everyone had the same mindset as you, voting wouldn't be based on a proper majority. That's why it's important for everyone to do it. It can be hard to "pick favorites", but who you vote for can change a lot about your life, and it's an important thing.

@@buffyismymuse but everybody doesnt have the same mindset as him. nor will everybody ever have the same mindset as him. everybody is a product of their conditioning and most people have been conditioned to vote like their life depends on it. its more like lottery odds, the odds that your vote is going to be the one to make the difference is about the same as winning the lottery. and thats assuming that the vote in your state isnt going to be a landslide or won by a significant amount. this is a tough pill to swallow: you (meaning the reader, the individual) do not matter in the grand scheme of elections. about 150 million people have already decided who they're gonna vote for. you're not gonna make the difference. especially if you decide to not vote without even influencing others not to vote. all votes matter until people vote for things that are considered too "fringe" or "undemocratic". the special interests, bureaucracies, media, and ivy league university systems have far more influence on what becomes policy anyhow. it aint that biguva deal.
