It took him 17 Years to build a Lamborghini from scratch in his basement with his own 2 hands.
Ken refers to the Lamborghini on his website as "Bull in the Basement" but is also known as the "Basement Lambo"

He says on his website "The car now is a physical reminder of what I have done, and I can’t bare to lay eyes on it." *1) Is the car frame made out of wood* - No that was the Jig to form the body panels off, the frame is tubular steel. *2) Why waste 17 years of your life, just get another job and buy the car* - Because it was his passion & hobby, we all have hobbies we waste time & money on. *3) Why didn't you build it in the garage, so you did not destroy your basement wall* - I covered this in the video, they have cold winters and he would freeze in the garage, but in the basement it is warm. *4) Why sell your dream car after building it for 17 years* - does no one listen to the video!!! he said it was a constant reminder of a bad time in his life ( read above) *5) You say Aluminium, it's pronounced Aluminum* - American think they are center of the universe, amazingly enough Americans are not the only people who have their own spelling & pronunciation of that word. I guess with modern tooling it could probobly be done much faster. I saw a guy making complex aluminum shapes by pressing it in a shape that then was heated up. If i remember corectly they CNC the shaped out of something.. hmm probobly should go watch the video again, cant quite remember how it was done

Austin Richard Wright Well, they certainly used to do it that way, before VW bought them out. The last true blue Lamborghini that was built the old fashioned way was the Murcielago (possibly the Reventon and Sesto Elemento too, but I'm not certain). Everything since is half German and factory built. The Aventador and Huracan are certainly great cars, I just can't respect them as much as their predecessors.

I actually met ken through a manufacturing apprenticeship. Super nice guy. He said that he doesnt regret building the car but doesn’t recommend other people to do something like this. He literally stuck all of his time and money into the car and wishes that he could get that back.

I have a car here that every few months I contemplate... do I restore this? or I junk it... Do I sell it to someone who wants to restore it (my preference). It's hard to make up your mind sometimes when you have an attachment to something. When I feel logical I almost pick up the phone to take the $150 from the junk yard... although I could just sell the spoiler alone for more.

Edit: Holy fuck I did not know this comment would be taken so seriously when I wrote it. Looks like I trigged some middle schoolers though, which was my ultimate goal anyways. yes, people have no clue what it takes to commit to a long term project, they are all self absorbed selfie loving shallow individuals. A lot of people can afford to pay people to fix & make things for them, but they prefer to make it themselves as you have a greater appreciation for it. Also it is a hobby, we all have hobbies and most of us spend a lot of time, money & effort on our hobbies with no goal of making money from it, such as for my 20's, 30's & early 40's i played upto 15 hours of games a day when ever i could with no expectation of making money from it other than i wanted to do it. the ONLY valid complaint I can accept is the engine choice, bar that any other opinion on his efforts & result are meaningless.

What an amazing build. Especially in a basement, then getting it out that way. Not many people have the balls to take this on and do it. I mean this is an amazing story.
