What everybody has to remember is back then cup football was nearly 90% of the football that was shown on tv, so it was so much more significant having a good cup run.

@@apathyintheuk265 If Man U had of lost at any stage in the 1990 FA Cup Fergie would have been out of the door. I was at the 5th round at St James' Park and before and during the game, most of the Man Utd support were baying for his blood. They managed to pull off a slightly fortuitous 3-2 victory again'st 2nd Division Newcastle, and I believe Danny Wallace got the winner!

@@Bazooka183 Or so the belief goes. We've been fed that line for over two decades now. To be fair, it would have been hard to imagine him not being pushed had Utd not won something that season. 4 seasons without any trophy would be enough to test the patience of most 'expectant' owners.

How can you exclude one of the most important moments of the game ie Nick Henry's shot which hit the underside of the bar and went over the line. If only VAR existed back then.
@Bazooka1834 жыл бұрын
It was that far over the line that you did'nt need VAR......just an unbiased referee and linesman would have sufficed. Absolutely disgraceful upload by the way.....this was the turning point in the whole tie, and it has been conveniently air-brushed aside.
