@Hopeless in Nyc she tells them to stay. She knows how her presence will be listened to because she is the judge. It may be presented as a suggestion but most of those men will take it as her telling them to do it. Yes she does it for the child but half of the time she doesn't take into consideration that staying can be the worst thing for the child and can be just as traumatizing if not more so. The constant arguing and strife that happens in some of these interaction's shows how it is going to be when the two adults come together for the child. Staying is not always the best thing. I am just glad she was up front and explained that to this boy.

I think she says it to acknowledge she sees their pain. Plus we’re not there, and the camera doesn’t pick up everything. She’s telling you so if you didn’t see it she sees it. It’s a painful subject we get desensitized to it because we hear it in many episodes. But she gives each case the respect of seeing their emotions.

A friend of mine did this. She was also a party girl, druggie, alcoholic, "live fast, die young" kinda girl. Then she had her daughter. The father ran off wanting nothing to do with either of them. It took a little work, but she quit that lifestyle for her. She's got a respectable job, found herself a good man to help keep life on straight, and sacrifices anything and everything for her daughter's happiness. It IS possible to go from being a ho to being a mom. That's why for all you people crying she faking it, etc. I have a flesh and blood example of someone in her shoes who didn't. But if my friend is on, let's say, Stage 8 of recovery, this girl is on Stage 1. I hope she finds out who the father is so she can find some peace too. If my friend (who seemed a hopeless case) could turn her life 180, so can she.
