The gun I pulled out with you lot was the same as the 1935 bulldog but disintegrated as I tried cleaning it up, I was gutted

I’ve seen a little gun similar to that it was a bit cleaner but it was going for $250 Canadian funds. Those little antique guns can go for a lot of money💰

looks like the coupler for a roll out pipe for an old fire engine, prob came off the canvas pipe when they threw the filter basket in for water, i can see the step ridges where the canvas pipe was stretched over... maybe horse drawn? the basket filter likely rotted away leaving the solid coupler

No not at all leigh, as long as you clear your mess and take any scrap away. Private areas are a no no but unless private you can fish till your hearts content. The canal laws are out of date and will always say its not allowed but ot applies to a old dregging law fro the early days when coal was stolen from canals
