When farmers want to manage weeds using mechanical and cultural practices instead of herbicides, it's important to have as many tools available as possible, and to know when and how to use each one. Klaas Martens, who farms nearly 2,000 acres of organic grains and legumes in Upstate New York, talks about the value of a relatively new tool--the camera-guided finger weeder, which allows for in-row weed cultivation after crop emergence.
