By far the worst part about being incredibly smart and incredibly creative is knowing what’s wrong, knowing fully what’s stopping you from making the things you want to make, but that knowledge doesn’t change it. Knowing that you have unfair expectations doesn’t make those expectations go away. At the end of the day I’m just glad you’re able to talk about it

For me, part of this is from my bad tendencies to procrastinate and hold things off until the last possible moment. You'd think three years of college would help mitigate this, but NOPE 🙃 And the other part might just be... lack of confidence? Second-guessing yourself? Not necessarily that you don't feel passionate for what you're doing, but worried that whatever you're saying won't have the impact you hope, or it'll come off as something else entirely - like overly whining/nitpicking, or immature, or whatever, despite spending weeks rewriting a script to prevent this, or doing all the research you can to ensure that days later you don't get those "uhm ackshually" assbites - which, yeah, don't hurt much, but negativity bias especially from the creator's viewpoint does shitty things. Basically imposter syndrome. Dunno what *I'm* rambling about since I'm supposed to be working on a thing myself, so I guess I'm doing the whole thing I'm commenting on. Whelp. But I've always enjoyed listening to your stuff as background noise, especially these mellow discussion-type videos. Always nice to listen to other creators and how their twisted mind palaces work, to compare to my own. Helps me in turn. If you've read this far, fuck you. Thanks.

The only videos I made "for other people" were always for my friends only. I've being making this content during the pandemic lockdown and stuff at first by treating it like a joke; a really low quality (in my opinion) video of clips of me and my friends on the games we play. But video after video I managed to make one of 1h (which is still private, like all my videos), building expectations. So my point is: I partially know how you feel, those friends of mine had expectations, not in a "bad" way ofc (that's why I probably can't fully understand you) but still. My advise might be very obvious but take your time man, even when you feel that you can't.
