FATV - Official match highlights from the The FA Community Shield 2010 with Premier League runners-up Manchester United defeating Premier League Champions Chelsea 3-1.
Sir Alex Ferguson was pleased to see a number of key players get match practice at Wembley and said his side deserved to beat Chelsea 3-1 to lift The FA Community Shield sponsored by McDonald's.
United made it a record 14th Shield success as goals from Antonio Valencia, new signing Javier Hernandez (Chicharito the Little Pea) and Dimitar Berbatov were enough to see of Carlo Ancelotti's Blues.
Salomon Kalou did pull a goal back for Chelsea to make it 2-1, but United were more clinical where it mattered. But it wasn't just the result that made Ferguson happy.
Chelsea: Hilario, Paulo Ferreira (Bruma 79), Ivanovic, Terry, Cole (Zhirkov 79), Essien, Lampard, Mikel (Drogba 60), Kalou, Anelka (Sturridge 60), Malouda (Benayoun 72).
Subs Not Used: Turnbull, Van Aanholt.
Goals: Kalou 83.
Man Utd: Van der Sar, O'Shea, Jonathan Evans, Vidic, Fabio Da Silva (Smalling 71), Valencia, Scholes (Fletcher 80), Carrick (Giggs 79), Park (Nani 46), Owen (Hernandez 46), Rooney (Berbatov 46).

It's stunning the similarities that I see between Van Der Saar and De Gea. It's incredible how well De Gea has grown up and filled his shoes and is quite class at the moment. The two of them even look alike in their movements and decision making. I love the both of them!

I can remember the 2010/2011 Team like it was yesterday!Giggs, Scholes & Neville (what Legends) along with Van Der Sar, Ferdinand, Vidic, Fletcher, Park & both Berbatov and Owen and not to forget some of the best young players at the time with Rafael, Fabio, Nani, Gibson and Hernandez with O'Shea, Valencia & Rooney deserve credit as well! That team which went through the whole Season unbeaten at Old Trafford would beat the sorry lot that Van Gaal has got together!God bless the Ferguson Teams!

Wait that was 2009/10 when we beat bayern. In 2011 we were 3 wins away from a treble , we won prem , lost cl final, lost semis fa cup

@kev in You mean we were robbed by Bayern in 2009/10 would've most likely gone on to win CL that season beat Inter previous season quite comfortably & never struggle vs them in CL. We were also robbed in PL & Shield that season both by Chelsea. We won LeagueCup by beating much harder opponents than cheating Chelsea had to beat to win their customary bought FAcup.

man, it's more than 6 years from then, time makes you depressive when you reflect on it... I miss this united so much, they were such a hard team to beat that season. actually, it was the only time since i watch united that they hadn't lost at old trafford, not even once. idk about others, but that meant SOO much to me... i miss you fergie, i miss my high school! GGMU!

ariean rachmat yeah, i agree with you - partly, because the system of play is different now, we have many players who can play just behind the main striker; like mata, miki, pogba, back then it was 4-4-2, and later it was 4-5-1, when berba was benched and chicha played in the final of CL... but, honestly, if you were to compare the quality of that side to the present one, we have more quality in the squad right now, but we don't have fergie... we lack that fighting mentality that we had, and in all honesty we don't have the cloud of luck that was following us during the fergie era, which also played a certain role...

Perfectly executed (and disguised) long pass from Scholes, followed by a perfect pass from Rooney showing his awareness of the move developing. In terms of playmaking and counter-attack intelligence, there is hardly any better than these two.

Hernandez scored for ManUtd against Chelsea in the Community shield, ChampionsLeague, PL, LeagueCup and FAcup. In the PL he scored 3 consecutive seasons in a row at Stamford bridge and a goal in the 2-1 win at OldTrafford in 2011 which basically won ManUtd the title that season.

@Unknown1892 We need more depth in midfield, scholes and giggs are most likely leaving after this season fergie trusts his youth players, but i still think he needs to sign up Mesut Ozil, he'd be the PERFECT replacement for scholes, he might not have his beastly shot but he's got scholes's vision and pass exicution with pace and good dribbling.
