Two men have been jailed after blowing up cash machines and using the money to go on holiday
Ben Thompson and Wesley Shepherd stole over £160,000 during their four-month crime spree which saw them target four shops - in Flixton, Rochdale, Gorton and Stoke-on-Trent
Each time the armed thugs would threaten staff before blowing up ATMs inside the store using and ‘improvised explosive device’
They caused thousands of pounds worth of damage and used the cash to jet off to Malaga, Egypt, and Mexico from Manchester Airport
Thompson and Shepherd both pleaded guilty to conspiracy to commit robbery and cause explosion likely to endanger property and life at an earlier hearing
Ben Thompson, 36, of Kentworthy Lane, Wythenshawe was jailed for 20 years
Wesley Shepherd, 40, of Thirsk Avenue, Sale was jailed for 18 years and eight months
