I don’t know about the comments in this comment section.. I think the cops did well - they kept their distance, once the guy was down they reached for his weapon and then tried to also make sure that he doesn’t die because of the tasing.. I say well done to the cops!

Me explaining what I saw: police officers detaining someone without beating him half to death, and doing so quite efficiently. He was effectively subdued within 20 seconds of the first police person getting out of a car and handcuffs on shortly after that - although we don't see exactly when. For all those of you that are slating the police officers that attended this incident and brought it to a conclusion, get off your arse put on a uniform and show us how it’s done. By rights it should’ve been a firearm officer that attended and ended this incident. That said un-armed officers risked their lives to save the lives of absolute strangers. For those of you questioning the hesitation, These offices faced an immediate lethal threat to both themselves and the public, likely already aware that injured parties may be critically injured. Yes, they have a stab vest. Yes, they have a batten and CS. Yes, some offices had a taser. But for the most part the reach of the sword is greater than that of their kinetic handheld buttons. Tasers are highly ineffective when used on people wearing baggy clothes such as a Hoodie. I anticipate that they did not believe the teaser was going to be affective. The stab vest that the officers are issued covers very small areas compared to the areas that can result in a life-threatening injury. Again before you criticise these offices, I suggest that you analyse the reasoning for any split second hesitation first.

Police did well, man was on the ground the taser can continue to discharge when connected, but they were taking caution approach because for obvious reasons you dont not want to get zapped from the tasers already connected.

In instances of multiple children/police/citizens being attacked/killed by someone with a knife the police should be able to access a firearm to make an arrest. A tazer and pepper spray is clearly not safe. 7 officers required to make an arrest after 2 have already been attacked makes that clear. Would you attempt to do so for £30k a year?
