Manco Dingo Transformation & Rip! Reviving our Favorite Cheap Go Kart!

The Manco Dingo is our favorite beginner/simple go kart. It's small, lightweight, and has decent factory-equipped tires, which makes it extremely nimble, very capable off road (for it's size), and it doesn't take much horsepower to make it fast! The Dingo doesn't have suspension, so it's a rough riding go kart, but it puts a smile on your face every time! In today's episode, we restore the Manco Dingo by giving it a deep clean, replacing the worn out Tecumseh 6 horsepower engine (that has a ton of blow by and covers the rider in oil) with a fresh one, we install gorgeous aluminum wheels, and more aggressive off road tires more better off road capability!

Do you think someone who is 6’5” 280 could drive this? I am looking at getting one with a 9hp engine (John Deere model) for my wife to truck my 2 year old around the yard. But I might want to drive it a little too of course.

Dingos are awesome! I had one when I was a kid. It came with a 8hp briggs (flat head) and was later upgraded to a 10hp tecumseh. I rode the literal wheels off that rig for ten years of my young life. This video makes me remember smelling like gas and mud😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁Awesome memories. Thanks for posting.

I have a Dingo myself, and I can vouch for it! Lots of fun but very rough. I want to see that 23HP 228cc on this Dingo. That would be crazy.

When I was a kid in the 80’s there was a neighborhood kid that had one of these awesome little machines. His was black with gold wheels but it didn’t have the full roll cage. The kid would never let anyone ride it but seeing him ride it up and down the road made me always want one.

Find the electric eyes from a overhead garage door. Make an electronic Start/Finish line. Run the wire over a big overhead drivethrough sign. I have lots of plans for your personal money! HAHA

You guys make it look so easy, love the videos. I'm currently converting a old 13hp harbor freight motor to electric start and its giving me fits. I'm building it for my daughter, I want her to be able to start and kill the motor from the driver's seat, hopefully we'll get her done soon 👍🇺🇸

I loved my dingo. Bought brandnew 1989. Had an 8hp briggs on it with 40 series torque converter. Mine only had cage over motor as u see in my pic

Solid! It makes me want to get a cheap cart, but California won't allow that. Just glad i get away with a motorized ratcycle and my electric moped. I get away with a lot just by them being cool. Idea: Keep a running list (at time of air/post) in the descriptions below with links to vehicles. Good for new viewers and viewings of older vehicles. Keep em coming fellas!

This is first time i remember John showing a little of the house and the street out front....very interesring! Looks like a neat ranch house kinda in suburbia/country but with a HUGE BY LARGE Back yard! Great choice. So much potential in that there yard. I see a 60×40 steel truss building in the near future. Maybe then you boys can add some automotive to the channel name! Keep up the good work

Pretty sure the term live axel means any axel thats two wheel drive either key driven or the weird hex shape in this video versus the one wheel drive that the guys call one wheel peel depends on how the frame is set up for either style

when I was a kid I had a mini bike with a McCullough shoe box kart engine and when you punched it it would put you on your back but we clocked it at 70 mph, one bad dude.

Tecumseh engines; Stock they do ok but they do a whole lot better once the governor is bypassed or removed. Port out the intake manifold a little bit and tighten the valve lashings and replace the stock muffler with a straight pipe header. The mikuni Carb is a must with a straight pipe exhaust. If yall swap that stock muffler with a straight pipe, tighten the valve lashing and bypass that governor, yall will notice a huge difference in power. Speaking from personal experience here... I promise you guys, you will not be disappointed.

Flat head engines don't have the horse power of a overhead valve engine.
