I listened to this song on repeat while I was 8.5 months pregnant in ICU. Everyday for 12 days I told myself I was in God's hands and these words uplifted me after a friend sent it to me. I beat the odds, walked out of ICU and 2 weeks later I delivered a perfectly healthy baby girl. Since that day, I have chosen to devote my life to Christ and where He calls me, I go. I can't listen to this song without bursting into tears. He is so powerful and good. He is where the joy is.

I was in my car earlier today listening to K-Love and I learned of Mandisa's passing. I saw her in concert several years ago at the Bellevue Christian Center in Bellevue, Nebraska and the song Overcomer is my all-time favorite. This song has really helped me through some dark times and I am so grateful to God and the world was truly blessed to have had the honor of listening to Mandisa's music and her beautiful voice. Rest in Heaven, Mandisa. May God wrap his arms around your family and friends and give them peace. You were truly a blessing to us all.

My wife Melanie of 5 1/2 years was killed 6 months ago after shots were fired at our home, one of which struck her while she was reading a bedtime Bible story to our 6-month-old. I now find myself a single father with two daughters (1 & 2 1/2 years old) at the age of 26. But despite the immense pain/loss I feel, I know God is good, faithful and worthy to be praised; even when I don't understand it. So instead of cursing or blaming Him, I choose to be like Job, saying "The Lord gave, and the Lord has taken away; Blessed be the name of the Lord". This song is beautifully written and a wonderful reminder to never stop singing His praise! A girl named Arianna had a heart transplant last night. She is here with us today. God is Amazing.

This girl helped me overcome stage 4 stomach cancer. My chances were 5 to 10% of making it. Chemo and radiation treatments were unbearable and I went from 143 pounds to a triple 000.. at the unhealthy weight of 79 pounds. Man was I in pain. But I made this far. Hopefully the signet cells are gone and if does..I'm living my best life right now. Thank you for this beautiful, heartfelt reminder. 😘⚘💕

I beat Covid after 5 weeks of being so sick I couldn’t move. But I have a eye disease not the the Covid eye, I have vertigo and tinnitus, I have facial palsy and haven’t gotten my taste or smell back. But I’m still fighting with everything in me. I can’t walk right, see, hear, smile, taste, smell and I get confused but I will not give up a single part of me! I listen to this song every day, literally.

When I had a stroke and going through physical therapy to be able to walk again I had this song on all the time. I needed the encouragement to keep going to do everything I could to keep going and not quit. I had to work hard to be able to walk again. Before I would get to physical therapy I would pray that God would give me the strength to work harder then I’ve ever worked in my life. And eventually I was able to walk again. I’m able to walk now. Then a few years later I got a phone call informing me that I had cancer. When I found out that they had the right diagnosis and the right person my thought was, OK God, how do we survive this together? In June I will be cancer free for 5 years. I had Burketts Lymphoma. After my 1st round of chemotherapy I had sepsis. I’ve survived a stroke, sepsis and cancer, all by the grace of God.

Mandisa, you are free indeed now, yes, the Son of God, our Beloved Savior Jesus Christ set you free indeed! You fought so hard to live in this broken world. Overcomer, Stronger, Free, Out of the Dark, Shine, Unfinished... so many insperational songs! Your life was a gift to this world, and a living witness and testament to the next world and eternal life with Jesus Christ. Yes, you loved Him, and there is no doubt that He loved you. You fought so hard. Your struggle wasn't visible through your beautiful and lively smile! You loved singing and dancing, you were created for more than what this world allowed you to be. You felt rejected and alone, misunderstood and ashamed. No more. My wife of 36 years was diagnosed with ovarian cancer in the Spring of 2022. After 7 chemotherapy sessions and a hysterotomy she is now in remission. I believe that Yahweh God uses physicians to heal because He has given them the intellect to perform such procedures.

I'm not christian, but I found the lyrics of this song to have a strong meaning. This last week, I remembered this song, years after I first heard it, and I just found out that Mandisa passed away. I could not believe the new when I read it, and I even wanted to cry. Mandisa made a huge impact on my life, and I will always remember her touching me with her music. Her music cheered me up and gave me strength on one of the hardest stages in my life. I will always remember you Mandisa. R.I.P.

There was once a couple who was waiting for a baby, this baby was just a little bean when the mother got very sick, and so the baby...The doctors said that one of them was going to die if not both. Prayers go up, blessings come down. Ladies and gentlemen, that little bean was the one who wrote all of this. God is Good.

It is quite interesting what an overcomer really means in our faith. We are in constant battle against adapting to our social environment: to not be a materialist by the billion dollar advertisement companies, to not let the media make us think we all need to be rich, good looking, and famous, to not develop the attitudes of the people that encompass our daily lives at work, school, etc. There definitely is a lot to overcome.
