They performed Power at the closing ceremony of the 2018 Winter Olympics Pyongyang. I have no evidence but I’m convinced it was written for that purpose. It just fits too well. For DFTF, D.O. and Xiumin had recently gotten out of the military, Suho and Chen were currently in, and Baekhyun and Chanyeol were enlisting within weeks. They took the opportunity to squeeze this mini album in while they at least had six regular members and Lay!

In regards to POWER, it has nothing to do with power rangers at all so scratch that thought …. it is one of many MVs within their group storyline of them being *aliens with elemental powers* from EXOplanet (TREE OF LIFE). In your free time, If you haven’t already go check out their MAMA debut MV with the a lengthy but informative introduction to their backstory. Sadly #LAY couldn’t be present for this comeback, but his elemental power is UNICORN [HEALING] and the random colorful balls you see are their power orbs. *At the end of the MV you see that Baekhyun is the first to fall to earth as the tempo changes into their next song.* If my memory serves correctly this is where they fight the space robot to get their power orbs and powers back which you see later. mama by exo is a great MV to learn a little more about their powers etc, im sure there is a timeline someone made of the events in the lore, but you can see alot of imagery in mama, lucky one and obsession

Trust me POWER mv is cartoonish and cute but the livestages for POWER at their concert are on A WHOLE NEW LEVEL 💯🔥😎

No they always had their powers ) red force stole their powers ( probably in Lucky one mv ) and put their power inside of the orbs and orbs inside of this robot ) so they got them back ) in lucky one mv they took their powers and inject them with some black/blue medicine that’s why they had split personality ( x-Exo ) from obsession mv

Power is actually the comical way of them to reveal the part of plot where they finally retrieved back their powers that were stolen by the enemies.

Not gonna lie it took me about 3 times to really like power but now i love it and dont fight the feeling is just a good feel song. Love em
