Thank you for a great video and a superb job restoring that old XT500! I am lucky enough to own a 1982 model that has just 8,000 kms on the clock. It's in great condition but not as nice as yours. It's a pity you can't work on mine as I live in South Africa. Keep up the great work - thank you! Neville

Una retrochimba lo único que les falta es la pechera el plato de aluminio que protege el motor por debajo de resto todo excelente felicitaciones yo tengo una que restaure modelo 78 la tengo desde el 96 y no la vendo por ninguna plata vivo en cali Colombia y he hido 2 veces a cartagena Santa Marta y no hay otra máquina como está leyenda es un mito

I just found a XT 600 TENERE 1VJ in a garden, It stayed there for 20 years. My dream is to restore it perfectly in the same way of doing.

Tolles video Habe auch ne xt 600 3Tb und wollte den rahmen entrosten und neu lackieren+motor hättes du ein paar tipps wie man am besten anfängt bei auseinander bauen und schleifen ect?

Wir schleifen nicht, wir lassen strahlen und Kunststoffbeschichten. Für´s auseinanderbauen gibts ja irgendwie keine Tips ausser einfach loslegen...

Gefilmt mit meiner alten Panasonic Digi.Videocam, der Zoom ist dann später im FinalCut entstanden. Materialkosten fürs Moped? Ohne Kaufpreis ca 3000€

Amazing! I'm restoring a '77 XT500 now as well, so this was very enjoyable to watch. Love the sound track, very funny at times! May I ask what rims you used? They look like the reproduction gold rims from Kedo perhaps? My rims are dented and need replacement. Gold looks so good here.

I can’t understand reason of such expensive and hard work with that piece of steel. New parts, paint, a lot of work hours with 2 men, wheels... This Yamaha must be a great value to the owner to pay for this work. However the result is outstanding!

@@castelblancoaeverd7709 don't think so, if it was a rare bonneville or some other classic, maybe, but xt 500 is a popular soft enduro, in my mind it is not one of great classic bikes (IMHO)

This is the bike I was riding, I owned that model , year and make. a 14 year old girl stole he mom's car and ran a stop sign .. I lost my rt leg below my knee that night.. That's my bike!!
