2012 was a really good year for Lego Star Wars with the clone wars and actual good OT sets.

2012 was the most nostalgic year of lego for me. Nothing will ever come close. Palpatines arrest, Jabbas palace, the desert skiff, and the old republic sets will always be the most cherished sets I’ve owned. The geonosian canon especially means a lot to me.

Jabba's palace is one of my favorite sets even 8 years later. It could have used a Luke's landspeeder inclusion, but thats neither here nor there.

Fun fact: The ARC trooper in the battle pack was an actual clone during the battle of Kamino named Hammer, the elusive fourth member of Rancor Battalion. And the ARF trooper is actually part of the Wolfpack, though he conspicuously appears in the battle of Kamino as well.

I really hope that Lego could make a mega Jabba’s palace, where there is so much inside it, where the rancor pit also includes, and and the sail barge, and the desert skiff and salarc. There should also be all the minifigures, and there should be over 10.000 bricks in the set.

3:06 I remember seein' this in the ol' lego catalogs back in the day. I always loved looking at the sets even if I had a slim chance of getting them (my parents got my older siblings WAY too much lego and thought I didn't need much more. Go figure).

I had 8 of these sets back when I was younger, I still have my Y-Wing, Malovence, and Sith-Fury Class ship built, currently been working on rebuilding Jabbas palace and next Palpatine's arrest. I also had the Desert Skariff, Gungan sub, and escape pod.

What could be the worst set of the best year... Hard to decide

2012 was legos best year in my opinion I have have of these sets , was 7 at the time and just recently got obsessed with legos. Each set I saw on this list gave me some sort of memory like seeing it in the store and wishing I had it or how much fun it was to play with that set. 2012 will love on forever as legos best year

I particularly enjoyed this video as 2012 was the year I got back into LEGO as an adult and have a bunch of the Star Wars sets from this year. Glad to see R2 is your favorite. I have it, but haven't built it yet. And I agree, of the sets I built Jabba's Palace is my favorite of the year...I built it with the Rancor pit and was really impressed. I also got the B-Wing on that same 1/2 off sale. While I haven't built it yet and it wasn't one I would have normally gotten, but happy to have it for 1/2 price. The biggest regret from this year's Star Wars sets was not getting the Gungan Sub. I really liked it, thought it was a little over-priced, but was focused on getting original trilogy sets that year. I actually like the sub itself pretty well and yeah, that figure is amazing. I did luck into sealed bags for the Malevolence a year or so ago for under $50. I also got the ARC/ARF trooper battle pack in sealed bags from the thrift store earlier this year. 2012 was a good place to jump into LEGO Star Wars. I've scored a bunch of the older sets in used hauls and fun to have them. I don't have the nostalgia for them, but I still appreciate them for what they were. By 2012, they had improved a significant amount.

2012 was my entry into Lego Star Wars and lego as a whole. I remember some of those sets being ones I wanted but was not able to get. Things just were very different back then, now I own some of the sets I wanted (the RAZOR Crest) and I now vallue the sets that came before.

I’m happy to say that I own the commando droid vs clone troopers battle pack. The ARC trooper is my favorite LEGO minifigure I own to this day. 😃

The arc trooper vs commando droid BP. Brings me so much nostalgia. First appearance of a commando droid in lego was so cool as a teen. Then of course later years a captain came out to finish off a squad.

This was the year that got me into lego Star Wars, which got me into Star Wars as a whole. I remember all of these sets, and owned about half of them.

I remember 2012 being one of my favorite years for Lego Star Wars, especially since The Malevolence was my favorite set at the time and it was the first Star Wars set I got with over 1000 pieces, and the 2nd set overly I got with over 1000 pieces

It's kind of crazy how many new minifigures LEGO offered in 2012. Nute Gunray, Queen Amidala, Barriss Offee, ARC Trooper, Old republic characters... Compare this to 2020 where they reused Mustafar Anakin and Obi-Wan in Clone Wars/early Episode III sets.

2012 was amazing but sadly I wasn't interested in Star Wars at the time because of the Marvel and DC Comics sets that year. I even missed out on the Lord of the Rings sets!😩😩😩

I saw the Palpatine’s Arrest set in a charity shop window for £17 a few years back and couldn’t resist despite giving away all of my Lego 10 years prior!

That desert skiff was my first ever Lego set so it’s definitely my favourite of 2012

The droid escape pod was actually my 1st ever LEGO set. I had just seen the movies as a kid and then got the set so I love it a lot for nostalgia.

The interesting thing about the Geonosian Canon, is that the episode that it’s based on is part of a five episode arc from season 2, but this set wasn’t released until 2012, so they made a set based on a season 2 episode when the ,fifth season of the show is out. I guess better late than never, i’m still glad they released it. I guess you could make the same argument about movie sets, but generally with Lego Star Wars clone wars sets , the sets usually come out around the same time as the episodes.

Idk Ryan that Fury Interceptor was definitely one of the highlights of the year.

I think the B-wing doesn't get enough credit. It's a great looking set, although it is expensive. Back in 2012, would've though the B-wing is an odd looking fighter, but now I've come to appreciate the vehicle (among the other alphabet-wings). Even the 75050 didn't get enough credit when it was release, but I managed to get 75050 new (but the box is smushed) at a good price. I hope lego will release a Resistance B-wing next year. It's the only lego fighter missing from the Battle of Exegol. :)

I have no idea why you put the UCS B-Wing at the bottom of the list. It seemed like a pretty accurate representation of my favorite OT fighter.

Love to see some of these sets get remade, Jabba's Palace is one, may have the Rancor Pit part of it or improve both, maybe add a third area where the droids go and the prison area from the same movie scene, Jabba's Sail Barge is another, other sets may be remade but who knows tbh

The 2012 X-wing and TIE fighter are the most movie-accurate Lego replications I've ever seen so far. There have been others in recent years(and several in the past that came a little close) but unless they were ones that did not include a minifigure because they weren't designed for it, the 2012's take the cake.

The droid escape set or the millennium falcon definitely are number 1 for me. The Falcon was the first big lego set that I got and the droid escape was the first non-planet set that I got.

Now after the amazing Mos Eisley Cantina MBS set they should do a Jabbas Palace MBS that would be amazing with the rancor underneath and continue on the Tatooine theme as this is the most iconic planet as we can see in the Mandalorian🙌👍!
