One of the few videos that describe the bowl leveling feature. And thoroughly at that! 😎👍🏼

both of my tripods now have the riser bar and trying to level with the legs is damn near impossible, I'm amazed I never knew this existed, thanks fam. Another quality video.

I've had the 755 for years, but I never knew about unlocking the center column. Jeez.

I'm embarrassed to say I never knew these leveling bases existed. I definitely need to invest in one. Thank you!

Yes very helpful. I've shown this product a few years ago, but because I still get questions about tripods, I thought I would re-share these in case anyone didn't know about them. Glad you found the video!

I have a old Manfrotto 190 tripod, rather than purchased a new Tripod. I was torn between buying a separate attachment or a new centre ball attachment. Thank you for your help as both options are the same in cost. However as I'm 6ft2 the tripod was always to low for me extended by a few inches. The adapter would increase the weight however it would also increase the height by a few Inches. Thank you for your help

I have one of those but advice to anyone who is considering buying one. Be careful about the screw on the wrench. Mine fell off and it was not easy to find it. And its so important because it helds the wrench in place... But after all this thing saved me a lot of time with my non ballhead tripods

Have you tried the Acratech levelling base? I have had one of these for about ten years and the quality is fantastic (in another league from Manfrotto I would suggest). It is very much like their ball heads (had one of those for even longer) but with more limited movement. The bubble level is very accurately set (unlike those on so many other bits of equipment). The also manage to keep the weight down too without compromising rigidity. Not quite as cheap as the Manfrotto ones but worth the extra I think.

The brand you speak of is definitely high quality and is probably worth the extra bucks in design. Though, I've had my particular one since 2010 (almost 7 years), and it's held up fine. I thought I would just re-share the product since some people have never heard of.

Can you just level the head with any ballhead mount?

Excellent video - exactly what I needed to know. Now I just have to figure out if I get the leveler 005 column (and of the diameter is such that it will work in my 30 yr old Bogen/Manfrotto 3001 tripod that has a 1” / 25mm post, or of I save $44 and get the contact leveler 438. Is the range of adjustment of the center column larger than the compact leveler head? Seems like it could be which many be worth the extra $44.

I used one of these leveling bases for years. It was great, except when I changed legs and hadn't removed it for about 2 years the thing wouldn't come off. Tried everything I could think of for weeks. Eventually I started to damage the center column of the tripod so I just stopped.

There are three tiny tiny locking screws under the base. You need to back out the screws and then you can spin it off.

Yeah I removed them. Even still the thing wouldn't budge.
