This set had everything. Mango plot armor, reverse 3-0, spaghetti, Mango 4 stock on leffen, HMW and Phil on commentary, Leffen holding that L. Lowkey one of the greatest melee sets ever.

Well for one thing it's faster because the movement is sped up and there's not a lot of lag after every input, also the advanced movement options and SHFFL aerials make it more reaction-based than ultimate. It's almost like the cod twitch shooter of platform fighting games.

@@NoctuaOlivae I think a big part is hitstun bc ultimate doesn’t have tons of endlag and stuff on moves, but most combos can’t go for as long as melee at all, so there are many more neutral interactions in a stock (which are typically less fun to watch than the combos/advantage)

@@TK-ev I really don't think 64 is anything like Melee. The closest relation to 64 in my eyes is probably Smash 4... Which isn't saying much of anything lol. I think Melee, Smash 64, and Brawl are all extremely distinct. Smash 4 is closest to Brawl, but is sort of a hybrid of the 3 in a sense. Ultimate is basically Brawl X Melee.

I wouldn’t even agree with that necessarily, the amount of times he threw himself into the corner to get shined once and nearly die (this probably happened 10+ times with a backair>shine on shield from Leffen) was a rough neutral gamble I don’t know the specific adaptation made but he definitely started closing stocks off of the neutral win. The edgeguards are a tossup because Leffen has good recovery mixups, and Mang0 didn’t seem to go for them as hard as Leffen (granted Falco’s dair has more risk and less coverage than Leffen jumping into a shine)

Leffen lost to first and second place in 3-2. That SHOULD be a lesson to not be THAT publicly salty about losses. I REALLY hope leffen cleans up his sportsmanship, but ive been here since 2009 and he's not gotten much better tbh. 16:00 seriously flailing your controller around when you lose is not acceptable.
