Between the border of italy and slovenia, sits the most picturesque mountain in the julian alps. Mangart. There are two beautiful fixed rope routes. The italian and the slovenian route. The slovenian route leads to the summit. Sit back and accompany us on this breathtaking tour.

An der Grenze zwischen Italien und Slowenien, sitzt der malerischste Berg der Julischen Alpen. Der Mangart. Dort gibt es den italienischen und den slowenischen Klettersteig. Der slowenische Klettersteig führt zum Gipfel. Lehnt euch zurück und begleitet uns auf dieser atemberaubenden Tour.

Very nice video i enjoyed :). I did the Slovene ferrata, it was awesome. I must say 4:30h is impressive also with the Italian ferrata, i am not that fast 😅

Beware if you plan to go - there is ramp down in valley that will limit amount of cars on the mountain road. If certain number is reached it wont open untill car leaves. There is bus on weekends in the summer, I think. Slovenian route is considered one of toughest secured routes in julian alps, there is alot of rock fall and snow patches on slovenian route sometimes stay untill mid July. Interestingly enough italian route is one of the easiest and theres alot of people on mountain.

In general, routes on slovenian mountains or how they call them ferratas, are only partly secured with fixed ropes. For the most part it‘s free climbing in the 1. difficulty or sometimes in the 2. difficulty. UIAA 1-2. Sometimes with exposed sections. The slovenian route on mangart however is an easier one, compared to their other mountains. But sometimes it is also a bit exposed and you have to be careful there. Thank you for your comment :)

Thanks for commenting. Agreed. The italian normal route is the easiest (we only show a few clips at the end of the video) Ferrata italiana is more exposed but better secured with fixed ropes than ferrata slovena.

@@wanderingsofalanandcaz Like ziko317 said, you don‘t need ferrata gear for the italian normal route. The path is secured with fixed ropes at steeper climbing sections to grab on. But it shouldn‘t be a problem.

@@cgoutdoor Thanks. Does the Slovenian Rout up need via ferrata gear? I've heard it does. I've read that up Slovenian route and down Italian Normal is the best rout to do it?
