Manhunt is a post-apocalyptic transgender novel by Gretchen Felker-Martin that takes inspiration from works like The Road, Y: The Last Man, and The Walking Dead. It shocks, unsettles, and frightens, all to hammer home the point that TERFs and bigots are dangerous.

I had to give up on this one. I don't think it'll age well for a number of reasons. Be interesting to revisit in a few years. My main issue with it though was it felt like the author was writing a Netflix tv show rather than a book.

@@WillowTalksBooks You recommend it because it features graphic descriptions of male sexual violence against women and you yourself are male not female. I'm guessing that if a "terf" wrote the exact same book but with transwomen getting violently raped and murdered you'd treat it like a hate crime

As long as you can afford it, I can’t recommend it enough! I actually picked up the US edition from a London bookshop because, as far as I can tell, it hasn’t been published in the UK yet. So I was lucky, but I did have to pay a little more. Worth it! FUCK TERFS!

at chapter 9 so far, a little wierded out by the role of race in the book so far. Or should I say lack there of, as the main characters are not described and the terfs have been the only ones who have been actively described as white

I'm a cis-gender, asexual guy and I'm reading this book now. It's so disturbing and so vile in places...but I truly can't stop reading. She truly is a good writer of horror and I'd love to see this as an edgy hard r-rated movie or show.

You hair is massive because it is full of souls...there's no need to apologize for that 😌We are of one mind concerning certain gripes had with this book...as much as I love fucking and killing (in fiction), both separately and also when done together, it did feel a tad gratuitous here! I also agree that at points the characters read exceptionally immature...in a way that removed me from the intensity of the story. 😮‍💨

This book was so painful to read. I could only read a page or two at a time without pausing. Triggering and traumatic as heck, but WOW I loved it so much!!! I also made a video reviewing it and became a blubbering mess 😭I'm so glad that you've read it and shared it here on your channel. Since the conservatives got wind of this book the author's been inundated with TERF hatred, so any positive reviews or even genuine, honest critique is so much needed to counter the bigotry. But yeah, even in this fantasy scenario so much of this book feels real. This is how trans people are treated in this world.
