The great thing about MSP is that you know it's them in the first two bars. It's their sound!

Bravo. So accomplished. The tightest, most interesting rock three piece on the planet. And in interviews they sound like gentlemen. Love this band.

Why the 5 piece on this performance? I was confused as yes I know alot of bands have an extra guitarist for live performances but why 2? Do u have any idea?
@salmonesque
@salmonesque Жыл бұрын
@@crazyhorse471 For the sound? For the full effect? It's a cracking song and they probably wanted it to be as well reproduced live as the recorded version, maybe? Plus it's live Tv and you want to look and sound your best. And like all of us, they're getting on a bit too 😊 I hope you're enjoying the hills of Arran and beyond in this great weather.

Not sure about the Belgian, but with the French flag it could be a nod to Yves Klein, given his influence on the new album.

quinlor I think I agree. I have come to like Wayne Murray (his backing vox are solid) but not sure they need three guitars and keys. I think JDB is also a better performer when doing most of the guitar work too.
@alyssarobertson1354
@alyssarobertson1354 6 жыл бұрын
i like them as a trio, but i think they add the additional musicians to help beef up their live sound so it can emulate the hugeness of their records. that's what i love so much about their stuff; it's layered and stacked and sounds incredible, but it'd be hard to recreate that live with 3 people. the third guitar is little superfluous, honestly, but i'm sure it works more to their advantage in a concert setting. long live the manics, stay beautiful ;)
@quinlor
@quinlor 6 жыл бұрын
I think they've always performed as a trio especially on television shows in respect to Richey's memory...
@steviesedge
@steviesedge 6 жыл бұрын
Three guitars is overkill. The Radio X performance of this song was done as a trio and the sound is just as big. Keep with Wayne if extra guitars are needed.
@underneonloneliness2

@@alyssarobertson1354 Have you watched the millennium 1999 concert. They sound more beefed up as a 3 piece. James used to play all the notes and sounded fantastic and full.
