Manifests, Coal, I/M and DPUs galore on the Norfolk Southern Dayton District!

Here are the last 4 from last week in Lockland, Ohio on the NS Dayton District. I was there with Buckeye Freight Railin` ‪@GY51360‬ ‪@SimonsEMDProductions‬ and ‪@AdventureswithJoeyBoats‬ getting the action.
The first 2 trains are Northbound NS mixed manifests. The second train has a mid-train DPU. They are followed by a long Southbound CSX coal train with a mid-train DPU.
Rounding out the video is a long Southbound CSX Intermodal. It is I 141, a daily train for CSX.
There is also a short video of a train I just missed when I got there. It was stopped South of the crossing, and you can see the rear DPU sitting there!

That was a fabulous NS mixed manifest heading north, Scott! It was very long, and it had two cars of plate steel that were just awesome. Great catch, Scott! 😊😊😊😊😊❤❤❤❤❤

I loved the loaded coal train. That entailed lots of work! The intermodal wasn't real long, but it was still a good train. 😊😊😊😊😊❤❤❤❤❤

Glad to see you are getting warmer weather! 20C is better than what you`ve had, but still not exactly warm! It hit 33C here today and tomorrow and Friday are going to be close to 37C!

Good made video, mr 1960 Gambit. When you stay aganst the railway hete in Lockland and the trains rolling alongside a think than: when a visit the U.S.A could i visit a railwayyard to watch the inside of these diesel beast and the cabin of the trainengineer. The place we go in Lockland is right up against the tracks. It is a very tight squeeze going through there for sure!

I’ll tell you what Scott that coal train sure did need a lot of new wheels put under it. Those wheels was in bad shape but anyway, my friend another awesome video and you try to stay cool out there and as always you stay safe out there and watch your back and we’ll see you on the next one

Oh wow Scott, look how close you could get to that empty intermodel / manifestl to film just amazing! Looked like you could almost touch it. The second train was flying so must be clear ahead where is Hamilton in relation to Lockland Scott? I like to see a coal train, i miss seeing those in the UK. You make me laugh Scott when you call it electric car fuel, so ironic! Awesome intermodel to finish love the sound they make on the track, a great day in Lockland Scott. ❤😊👍

Good morning Carol, Boy it has been hot here, mid to upper 90's and heat index up to 105. no rain in sight until next Sunday. over night lows are from 77 to 80 degrees, Running my air conditioner down an extra degree to keep it cool in my home. Just finished watching Buckeye Freight Railin video, awesome video, but now it is time to watch my friend Scott's awesome video. Carol, have a very wonderful day.

@@revharrycwigmoreiii5787 hi Rev Harry, oh my that sounds really uncomfortable night time nearly 80f wow. A lot of the Eastern US is having a heatwave at the moment they say it will be 100f in New York & Maine area which is a bit unusual. We are struggling to reach 70f at the moment! It's been an awful June. Remember hydrate Harry & try to stay cool your air con will be on overtime! Have a great day too. ❤🥰🌞

Thanks Carol! Hamilton is about 15 miles Northwest of Lockland. Yes, you can get real close to the trains there in that parking lot. They are only about 4 meters from the blacktop!

shipping coal to Georgia from around there makes no damn sense!!! the mines in Floyd Perry and Harland counties are a damn site closer and closer equals cheaper!!! you know i figured something out today Scott we had one come through with 5 cyro-gas cars on it (these were helium) and it hit me that i've never seen cyro-gas cars on NS anywhere!!

That`s cool! I have only seen a few cryo-gas cars go through Glendale and I`m almost positive they were all on CSX trains. I guess the reason they move coal that far is because it is of the type or quality they need and can`t get from anywhere closer. Otherwise, I`m with you, it doesn`t make much sense.

I’ve always wondered when you see the car trains and they are spray painted, does that paint get on the cars inside?

oh yeah it does they do catch paint!! the cars supposedly have plastic on them to catch the paint but i've never seen one loaded or unloaded with it on them!!

@@keithmoore5306 so that means the dealers have to get that paint off and respray them? It would seem they would have to cover the newly made cars/trucks, that were recently painted, not completely cured paint, with plastic covers to protect them… crazy, sadistic world we live in . Somebody didn’t get a spanking growing up, or sit your ass down before I knock you down, Dad

A really good assortment of trains on this one. Loved the coal train. Some containers on the intermodal were new to me. You had a perfect filming spot. Looked like you could reach out and touch the cars. Thank you Scott. I always enjoy your posts. Take care. ❤

@@rebeccachapman4364 The cars do have a clear plastic covering on the sides too protect them from the paint. I used to watch them peel it off at the dealer I used to hang around at back in the day. It`s a good thing too with all the vandals out there now.
