‘Manikpura Batiks’ is the success story of Chathura Manikpura who, with his vast knowledge and experience in Batik design, has established a thriving business with a range of stunning Batik designs. With the support of his family and a few other female employees from the area, Chathura designs, dyes and distributes a wide array of clothing, tailor made to the customer’s absolute satisfaction.
One of the highlights of his enterprise is that, being a teacher, he is ever ready to train and impart to others, his knowledge and experience in both the batik industry as well as general business management. He supports his employees as well as students, by guiding them in the craft and encouraging unique designs, thus, not only making an impact to the economy through his business, but also adding value to so many individual lives.
Manikpura Batiks is a grantee of the Enterprise Project which is funded by the Delegation for the European Union in Sri Lanka and the Maldives.
