I knew shopping was big in Manila, but I was really surprised by the quantity and quality of the malls we found here. Literally every flew blocks had a huge multi level mega mall. Makes American consumerism seem small and quaint by comparison.

Filipinos like to go to shopping malls, and you're right, it's a national past time.. That's why there are very big malls in the Philippines! Not just in Manila, but all over the Philippines, you can find nice big shopping malls..

I was also surprised of how many malls we could find there in Makati, SM, Greenbelt, Glorietta, etc. They're always crowded too

If you go to Makati, u can hop mall to mall. 3 big malls are inter connected with walkways (SM, Landmark and Greenbelt) and u wouldnt think u r in a third world country. There are beautiful gardens in Greenbelt, museum. Landmark and SM malls are packed with shoppers. Greenbelt is a bit more upper scale with designers boutique everywhere. There's also Rustans. There are cinemas everywhere.

You forgot Glorietta Mall that connects SM and Landmark. Landmark is just a Dept Store and Supermarket in a single building there is no boutique unlike Glorietta which is bigger than SM and Landmark. 4 they are, not three!!!

You missed out 2 malls. Ayala Center is intreconnected by 5 malls. SM, Glorietta, Landmark, Greenbelt and Rustan's. Greenbelt is actually composed of 5 separate buildings connected by bridge.

Yes we have it from the cheapest to the known international brands. Some we know from Singapore, they say that clothes here makes more people younger. So don't look down on Philippines when it comes to shopping. Though we are '3rd world country'. So enjoy your shopping here! And by the way, watching movies here is far more cheaper than in US and UK. Here you can see a movie from US$6-8.

There are women in those malls called "joiners". It's easy to spot them, especially in greenbelt mall. They cost roughly $20-$50 for overnight banging.

Went to Manila in 2012 and its sad that most people do is go to malls. There are no large city parks, no decent museums, didn't go to the zoo, cuz I heard it was horrible. Hardly any well kept historic land marks...lacking culture.
@minim6981
@minim6981 6 жыл бұрын
the weather sucks most of the year. Why would people go to parks? Btw, there are large parks like Luneta Park- it's pretty big. Ayala Park is smaller, but still decent in size. There are plenty of good museums like the Ayala Museum, the National Museum of Fine Arts, the Museum of Natural History, and the Museum of Anthropology. You just didnt seem to look in the right places
