Manipur: Powerful blast on Imphal-Dimapur Highway

A powerful explosion rocked Manipur’s Kangpokpi district late on Wednesday evening damaging a bridge located at the Imphal-Dimapur National Highway 2. As per preliminary reports, the incident took place at around 12:45 am at Thonggaibi bridge between Saparmeina and Koubru Leikha villages. The explosion caused three craters in the middle of the bridge, disrupting vehicular movements, especially heavy motor vehicles.
As per police, the explosion was caused due to an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) however, no injuries or casualties have been reported from the blast.
The incident occurred just two days ahead of the second phase of the 18th Lok Sabha election in the remaining 13 segments of the Outer Manipur Lok Sabha constituency. So far, no individual or organisation has claimed responsibility for the blast.

Kangpokpi district is a Kuki-Zo dominated district. It's pretty easy to deduce that Kuki-Zo militants did this. Just a few days back trucks carrying petrol and LPG were attacked by Kuki-Zo militants (namely the United Kuki National Army).

Remember that this highway is not only the life line of Imphal valley but also other districts. Cutting essential supplies to Imphal valley is indirectly effecting other districts.

Who blow up the bridge? Well lets look at the motivation of who is going to be. Meiteis: Theg don't want any blockade in the National Highways, it is not only Meiteis but all the other communities living in Imphal and rest of Manipur depends on free movement on highway. Kukis: well they have tried to blockade the NH since the beginnjng of crisis. They bombed a bridge in Kwakta before, they attacked on the trucks bringing oil and gas in NH. However they are unable to stop the flow of trucks because they came with escort of central forces. So if they blow up the bridge, it will take months to repair achieving their objective. So everybody knows who is doing it.

Nagaland with 86.5 per cent of ST population in the state, Meghalaya with 86.1 per cent, Arunachal Pradesh with 68.8 per cent, Manipur with 40.9 per cent now explain to me why and how it is because of the tribes .... explain it to me.... Can you?
