Manitowish & Trout River Loop

This video documents my loop trip on the Manitowish and Trout Rivers near Boulder Junction, Wisconsin in June 2020.
This was a 40-45 mile loop beginning and ending at White Sand Lake. The route included White Sand Lake, White Sand Creek, the Manitowish River (including Boulder Lake, Island Lake, and Spider Lake), and then upstream on the Trout River (including Manitowish Lake, Alder Lake, and Wild Rice Lake), Trout Lake, Stevenson Creek, Pallette Lake, and Lost Canoe Lake.

I'm glad you like it. I'm done paddling and posting videos for this year, but hopefully I'll be able to start up again in the spring of 2021.

@@dunordable Don’t be shy about filming your camp set up or just floating time. Good to see the rivers as well as the camp site. Again, just really great vids. Thanks for sharing, man.

The float planes live on the lake one on an island on south trout.

You can find a link to the Northern Highland-American Legion State Forest canoe routes map on this page: p.widencdn.net/xc7qyu/NHALCanoeRoute The loop I did started and ended at the landing at the SE corner of White Sand Lake. The start of the loop (the portion crossing White Sand Lake and then down stream on White Sand Creek) isn't one of the highlighted "trips" on the map, but then it connects to Trip 2, Trip 3, and Trip 5 (in reverse) on the map. I did the loop counter-clockwise, but I think it should be doable clockwise as well. The River Alliance of Wisconsin's Paddle Wisconsin map (wisconsinrivers.org/paddling/) is also a good source of information. You can zoom in on the map and then click on a stream segment and get a narrative description of many rivers in the state. For this particular loop, the descriptions of White Sand Creek, the Trout River, and Stevenson Creek were useful.
