I would want Abhinandan to watch Bramayugam , on surface its a horror movie but its talking about caste hierarchy & abuse of power and a lot more in subtext. I felt like somebody was inspired by Ambedkar's books and he decided to make a fictional horror movie out of it. Its a brilliantly made movie.

I found the comments by Rajyasree Sen in this video quite poorly researched and to some extend disturbing tbh. If she had done her homework, she would know that "Manjummel Boys" is based on a real-life incident from 2006. The actual individuals involved (upon whom the story is based) are now around 36-37 years old, meaning they were just ignorant boys in 2006. They come from Manjummel, where they spent most of their lives as working-class laborers. They were not sophisticated and, like many 18-year-olds, made mistakes. Their decision to enter a dangerous cave was purely out of youthful ignorance. To imply that they deserved their fate is incredibly inhumane, especially coming from a channel that prides itself on its political stance. The director made a creative decision to cast older actors, which makes sense because shooting such a movie with a bunch of 18-year-olds would be impractical. While everyone is entitled to their opinion about movies, presenting an uninformed "discussion" on KZfaq severely undermines the channel's credibility. Also, the way she rolled her eyes when Abish said it is based on the real-life story ! Sigh! What an elitist attitude.

The characters shown in Manjumel Boys, are lower middle class people, they never got proper education, they work from a very young age, their idea of fun comes mostly from the movies, they don’t any better. We can’t expect them to be classy and all. At the same time when the incident happened I think most of the classy folks would go back or call police, but these guys showed strength and character that shows their character and loyalty which can’t be taught. We should not judge them we should empathise with them.

Manjummel boys is about friendship and the bond they hold. Their persistence in trying to save their friend is such a heart warming story. Lovely cinematography and screenplay.

As much as I enjoy Rajyasree's presence in the pod, I really think she did Manjummel Boys dirty with her perspective. Yes the boys were loud and obnoxious, and panicky.. You know what else they were? Fleshed out flawed humans. It's very likely that she was at the side of the cops who brutally assaulted some of the boys when they went to report. Guess what Ms Sen, it's not an "inconvenience" to authorities when it comes to rescue operation - it's their job. The whole point of the film was that when individuals, however flawed or 'obnoxious and panicky' they may be, come together for one purpose, they can surmount odds, and even nature. Ms Sen really appeared to be that snobbish classiest aunty in her 40s who rolls her eyes when someone "beneath her station" takes a lot of selfies and makes loud remarks at the restaurant she is eating at.

I have seen all kinds of negative reviews of Manjummel Boys. But Rajyasree's review is the most ridiculous take I've seen... 🤣🤣 I too hated the characters of the movie in the beginning because I've seen such people in real life. They were annoying AF in the beginning, but after the person fell into the cave, the emotion changed. Like Abish said, I think film makers also probably meant it that way. If you notice, the loudest guy in that group is the reason is the person who keep calling that friend's name and since he is loud, it's his voice which reaches the guy who fell. And she cried for 'Chennai Express'??!!! One of the crappiest movie in SRK's career??!! 🤣😆😆

Whether you like a film or not is upto an individual, but saying one should have just died when the said incident as pointed out many times is based on a real story is ..... a bit idk privileged ans comes out as insensitive. especially considering the economic disparity(class) these people (the original boys not the movie stars) come from and the people in discussion is ... I think comments like this should not be made on a discussion like this on a true story. Its not fiction. When a real life situation happens, though it's irresponsible of them, the people and the govt has the responsibility to help them bc thats what humanity is. I think that's a very simple concept not that hard to grasp. If you're not hating on the factors why you hate this movie as in characterization and story and just saying you hated these people especially when these are just real life ordinary lower/middle-class men who was in their 20s who showed bravery for a moment in need though flawed like any other it really comes across as hate on these real men rather than the movie characters. It comes across as you like only expect polished characters and believe only they need saving. Maybe that's not what you meant but that's what was understood not just by me but seeing the comments by many Also, if you enjoy Chennai express, a film most South Indians hate and which propagates the south Indian stereotypes, and have no criticism for it and when you have strong opinions as to one should d*e for a real life story .... I guess there is no point

I don't understand people who want to view every movie as a moral science class. Also I think it's the people with privilege that are the first one's to complain. Rajyasree, you need watch movies for entertainment. These are stories of people who have a tough life, working a really physical and stressful jobs. They take these vacations with friends, it will be loud and obnoxious. Nobody taught them the etiquettes that people that are born with privileges have.
