Just like the mystery schools of ancient days became perversed and lost connection with the core values, I imagine that the same thing has happened to the Masons. The early Masons did much to advance humanity and America in general but the modern version seems to be more of a business connection establishment social club as opposed to a society dedicated to the betterment of humanity at least at the base level. Hall was a prolific writer from an early age who collated info from wherever he could find it to smash together into books. Books full of factual errors, made up BS, etc. Serious students of Western Esoteric tradition wouldn't use his books for anything other than toilet paper.
