"Coping with Mental and Emotional Depression" was spoken and recorded in front of a live audience by Manly P. Hall on August 22, 1982 in Los Angeles.
This lecture is timely and appropriate for today, just as it was 40 years earlier. Mr. Hall's perspective on the problem of depression is just as fresh, and is a 'new' way in which we can look at ourselves and our relation to the world around us.
NOTE: The CC subtitle transcript doesn't exactly match up with the spoken word. This is because Mr. Hall himself edited the transcript for clarity and publication as Lecture Note No. 303. This is interesting because it shows how close Manly Hall spoke to the written word - there are very few corrections, mostly for readability.

One thing I love about these lectures from his later years, is how it feels as though he’s talking to the people of the new and coming generations. Words of wisdom are forever.

His talk is in August 1982, and in March 2023, it is like he is speaking today. These timeless. I may grow old, be happy one day and depressed another. Yet these thoughts are for eternity.

I think he’d have a good chuckle at that. Have you dug who he was? Here’s a quote from one of his books- "When the Mason learns that the key to the warrior block is the proper application of the dynamo of living power, he has learned the mystery of his Craft. The seething energies of Lucifer are in his hands." -Manly P. Hall, 33rd "The Lost Keys of Freemasonry" page 48

This, just like New Age, mainly serves to inflict guilt upon the one who is already suffering. It disregards completely the exterior motives and it even ignores that Hall himself was a Mason, rather miserable and linked to MI5 and the Soviet Union.

Yes there are many victims of circumstances beyond their control and or victims of controlling influences. The title just says "cope" not cure which is more realistic. Intellectuals tend to suffer from depression more than average with Manly maybe talking and writing was his way to cope won't work for everyone though. He studied the masons but didn't join till later in life because you can't talk about them as a member I don't know M15 is but "the Soviets" were half of Europe for decades so can't just avoid such a huge culture significance completely.
