Sounds like a beautiful couple. My dear late husband Carl D'Errico knew them. He was a Brill building writer along with his parter Roger Atkins ..Carl and Roger wrote the ANIMALS hit ITS MY LIFE and Cynthia and Barry wrote WE GOTTA GET OUT OF THIS PLACE. Carl told me they would all get assignments up at SCREEN GEMS when singers were looking for material. There were many writers, we also lost Estelle Levitt who wrote IN THE NAME OF LOVE for Peggy Lee..also passed away a few months ago..there is a lot of music going on in heaven. Didi D'"Errico

May the memory of Cynthia Weil be a blessing, as she and Barry gave voice to the loneliness, yearning and unease of a generation. They could write songs that had soulful drive, had swooning romanticism, and somehow could be sung across racial and class lines by great performers and, most of all, by the rest of us sitting in the back of our dad's Mercury sedan. Cynthia and Barry wrote my most favorite songs in the 60s one of them one that was most unheralded was " Magic Town " , sung by the Vogues. Plus I can't get over how humble they are. Wow.
