I would not go so far as to say that Dominicans own baseball. Much of the reason, besides loving the sport, is that it is one of the few ways in which one can gain an opportunity at a future. Don't get me wrong. I love it on the island, the music, food, tobacco and mamajuana. I very much doubt that Dominicans who are humble and with a lot of heart like Pujols and Furcal would ever say that they "own baseball." The only latino in baseball who can say that he is an owner is franchisee Arte Moreno.
