I'm no expert, far from it, but Jesse looks natural in this. No weird face and head transformation. He's not overly vascular. He's not cartoonishly wide. Looks like he just put in a good amount of time at the gym. good for him. A lot of people in Hollywood wouldn't be so patient.

@@ofensatul I think his Lex was great too. I think people would expect that Lex Luthor would be this kind of "macho bald evil cartonish" guy but I really love the layers Jesse brought to Lex. He was like a young Lex Luthor filled with "power" but that slowly shows something very macabre in the end of the movie and full of anger and envy quoting book phrases.

Just watched it and not at all. It’s about an incel who was left by his father and struggled a lot without a healthy masculine role model but made poor choices and surrounded himself with the people who didn’t care about him and ended up leaving his son just like his father did.

Was about the struggle of masculinity. A theme within it; was to be both strong and powerful, yet weak and tender. The boy that grew-up without the love of a father and with an unavailable mother, and so there is something missing. This makes the world feel like a very cold and tough place - as love is never shown to the man. He must struggle to show and give love, when he has never been loved. And then he must struggle to be a father, when he was never shown how. The whole film he struggles with trying to appear strong, and not show weakness, when all he wanted was love and acceptance. Only at the very end; when he was shown the love that he was never given, was he able to then be vulnerable. The tall man, with large hands and a deep voice, who was calm, wise and loving - who was there for him, was like the father he never had. Edit: I grew up in a similar way. I found the end quite moving.
