This is why you should probably sim a few full games at least. The EA sim engine can often be bad and unpredictable so it can sometimes be best just to play a full game. Ik it may make the video too long but you don't need to show the whole thing.

I just had my goalie be a pro debut yesterday. I think I played pretty well. I let in 2 goals on 6 shots but the first was because Gavrikov put it in (I started with the Kings) and the second deflected off one of the defensemen in a thick screen.

I'm not sure if you want to do this because it may feel like cheating, but I always found it more enjoyable in goalie BAP to change the sliders for human goalies for reflexes all the way up. A lot less goals go in when you're square to the puck, but if you're not there, the puck will still go in. Makes it way less frustrating and reduces those goals that go through you. I know those happen in real life, but this is a game that's meant for fun.

I 100% agree with this. I did this on NHL 22 and I had 8 vezina seasons and won a hart playing 60% of the games all the way through. As bad as my team has been on NHL 24, I still have a .926 with these sliders. If your average joe can score 80 goals in BaP, it should at least be possible for a goalie to win a hart or vezina IMO.

Tried this out today and let in 3 goals on 5 shots in the chl from a team with like 55 offence... Never playing that damn game ever again

As a fellow goalie who struggled to put up decent numbers, I'd recommend boosting the sliders for goalies (and slightly nerfing CPU shooting/passing). I have everything set to 100 and while I still let in goals and can get lit up, it's still possible to put up a .920 if your team doesn't screw you over. The fact of the matter is that NHL is not built for offline goalie play, you've gotta turn the tables somehow. I did this with NHL 22 and I was able to have 7 or 8 vezina seasons and even won a hart. I played around 40 games each season without simming too. I think it's the only way this game can be fun for goalies tbh.

Dude good advice. I’m going to make those adjustments. I hate that the goalie gets pulled back to the goal line in NHL 24. Is there a way to fix that?

As rough and annoying as it is. During the offseason on every sunday you have 19-29ish "hours" to put into training which levels up ypur ovr slower than using the points but still allows you to level up slowly. I think between season 1 and 2 i managed to get to 79 ovr with it

I always play for the chl cup with the worst team lose the first 2 games then you can do that all the way until September put me at 74 at the start of season one. During the season I use all the training points on stick, glove movement and rebound. Played 12 games on 3 minutes simulated a few now in February and I’m at 77 overall. Can’t wait until the end of the season to boost my stats ready to fight for first place goalie in season 2

Oh and trait points poise all the way means you don’t crumble under pressure so much. Like when you are on a shutout, your team has the puck in their end yet your pressure meter starts rising.

Probably right, I feel more immersed with this camera angle though. For entertainment purposes I prefer it but I could be wrong 🤷‍♂️

@@ManOfTheRittfixed is defintely better, I used to play on high but there’s so many avoidable goals that get scored because of not being able to see the puck. Whatever you prefer most though Ofc.
