You are awesome! I learn so much from you. Odd to see a guy who sees but most videos from women have a whiny voice and it’s annoying. Love your voice and knowledge.

It's funny because I didn't know that the one foot hovered over the fabric, I have the Janine 6600 and just finished a quilt. I knew it was adjustable but never noticed it didn't go up and down. I learned something new today! Thanks.

At last ! I know how to fix my free motion foot to my Pfaff, thanks Rob. Mine was supplied with the machine and it is a plastic wide open foot. This really is for darning as it is a zig zag foot.

I'm an extreme beginner, I have only made one quilt and I did quilt it myself. What is the best way to quilt something on my home machine for a newbie? Straight lines, pre marking with stencils, free motion? Really enjoy your videos
@ManSewingVids
@ManSewingVids 9 жыл бұрын
Jerrica Renicke You really can't go wrong with straight lines but if you practice on smaller pieces of scraps you can definitely free motion as well!!

I installed the foot that came with my singer quantum 9960 and when I lower the presser foot it does not appear to go all the way down. The spring IS over the needle bar and it DOES move up and down...but it is not going all the way down like in your video. Any ideas?

Hello! Rob uses a Panosonic 360 Iron. Missouri Star Quilt Co. carries them, but they are currently out of stock. You can still add the iron to your wish list and be notified when it is back in stock! Here is a link: www.missouriquiltco.com/shop/browse?q=panasonic

I don't have any kind of free motion foot and, well... Money is tight right now... Is it possible to do this with the normal presser foot? I've lowered the feed dogs and raised the presser foot bar so the presser foot doesn't touch the fabric. But I am having all kinds of tension issues. I've played with the top tension bu t it's always too tight or too lose. There seems to be no middle ground. Obviously, I know it's best to have the correct tools, but is there a way to do this without them?

I have an old but wonderful Singer 6215C that I'm learning to quilt on, but there is no way on it to drop the feed dogs. Does that mean that I cannot possibly learn to free motion quilt on this? I have been only stitching in the ditch until now... Thanks, Lori

I can't lower my feed dogs. I have an older 1980s singer sewing machine. What do I do now? Is it a lost cause?
@stitchwishes499
@stitchwishes499 9 жыл бұрын
You can do it with the feed dogs up, it works better on some machines actually. You just set your stitch length to zero. Some also have a plastic cover to go over them. Check out Leah Day's videos, she talks about it. Search the web also, you might find info about your particular machine.
