This video outlines a range of different manufacturing processes which can be used for metals, polymers, ceramics and composite materials.
Metals can be processed using forming processes such as drawing and extrusion, due to their relatively high malleability and ductility. They can also be machined and cast.
Polymers are generally processed in a molten state, in a process called injection moulding and ceramics are also generally processed in their 'green' state prior to sintering.
Composites are diverse, due to the huge number of different composite materials available in engineering.
