Just remember that Hylos is not good as an initiator. He can support the frontline with his ult but he should just stay close with marksman and mage to keep them from dying. Like how Ling in this match kept on targeting Karrie but will not be successful because Hylos can cover them

That habit is honestly one of my struggles with him and actually pretty hard to do in the game despite how simple it is. Since my mains are usually zoners like Carmilla, Silvanna, or tank build Karina, i often try to zone out opposing dmg dealers after i dive into the teamfight so my own dmg dealers can focus on the melee heroes and kill them without fearing any nukes or barrage of basic atks

@@ispeakcockney5387 I've seen other tanks "covering teammates" by constantly walking beside that teammate. Trust me when I say this, Hylos CANNOT protect teammates this way, especially when there are two enemies with the ability to 100 to 0 said teammate in two seconds. The best way Hylos can cover said teammate is provide vision, NOT be beside the teammate, and EXPOSE enemies by actively being aggressive to them (this also removes their buffs like BoH). Overall, if you are not pressuring the enemy as Hylos, you're just another source of gold for them to cash in on after they've ganked your MM. PS, I'm not saying "don't be close to your teammates". I'm saying, don't make it obvious you are babysitting your MM. The moment you show on map, it makes it easier for the enemy to plan their attack against you. Roam should be unpredictable, or roam doesn't affect the match at all.

@thewatcherinthecloud i'm talking about the mid and late game tho. Sure, tanks can be aggressive in early game not in late game when damage dealers already equip themselves with penetration and true damage. By that time, your marksmans or mages should be able to 100 to 0 enemy divers or equip themselves with anti-burst items. Checking bushes is also another way of covering teammates. By the time you encounter a gank, you and your backlines should close your distance together to let your backlines safely free hit everyone

Even though there's no direct buff, i'm pretty sure Hylos is going to be a great pick on the next patch for 1 good reason, the new Clock of Destiny. All of its stats and passive are just perfect for him : huge mana stat, hybrid def stack passive, and heal on low HP passive. Speaking about the last passive, it synergizes well with his ult's HP regen to prevent him from dying too fast from burst dmg after initiation. You can even combine it with Revitalize + Oasis Flask as 2nd item for even more stupid heal and act as a budget support

He is tough,but he just isn't fit for the meta Hylos has no dash,and while he counters burst pretty much,what's he gonna do with a trinity build Claude with Sky piercer? And what about the Marksmen that can just dash away from him? Most items added in the game are made specifically to make Tanks cry,and Hylos is no exception. You're the punching bag for the team,but what are you gonna do when you face Lunox?

i play him all the time, he is the king of turret diving and a nightmare for enemy adc, mid and jg if the get caught in the middle. i sometimes use him to rush through backline if my exp or jg tanky enough.

Hylos isnt used often because he lacks the healing or the setting potential of most roamers in current meta, it was why he was being used as a jg rather than a roamer. I would love to see a rise of hylos once again

Hylos IS a great tank, but he is kinda ineffective on current meta where dashes and stuns heroes are prioritised while set up tanks are more popular.

They need to buff bane's passive remove the delay because he can't hit the enemy in the edge of his passive when the enemy is moving

Before his recent buff, I rarely use Hylos because of how fast he dies when he runs out of mana even though his HP is higher than a lot of tanks not to mention there are quite a lot of heroes doing %HP damage. Even after his buff while I did find him better than before I still preferred other tanks. Currently pushing to Immortal (3 stars left but soloq is hell) and Hylos has become my best pick. He's very good vs a tank jungler that can't safely escape him where you just buy Ice Queen Wand and watch them struggle to escape the combined slow from his 2nd skill + ult + IQW. Had a match vs an Esmeralda jungler and she struggled so hard since I'm just preventing her from moving and her roam is just a Floryn who can only heal.

Hylos buff is REALLY REALLY REALLY GOOD! It has been a sleeper pick after the buff. On an organized team, Hylos is usually paired with Yve which is just evil. On top of the RWM's slow, the slow also on Glorious Pathway is just too much especially on immobile heroes (Yes, Utility Junglers) and the fact that the new CoD is coming which is just a mess to face against.

Johnson can do the job most of the time, even grock can do the stealing with Sky piercer though. Hylos is just a pure meat shield, with upcoming item (wishing lantern + combined Necklace and burn) he will instantly melt and cant keep up.

And that's currently with the problem of trying to draft an roaming Hylos. Like Baxia, he can't be an viable roamer due to his skillset having limited utility to what's needed today for an good non-DMG roamer: tons of utility, tanky af, and can change the tide of a battle, and good example of those is Chip. Sets hard to predict also needed for an good setter roamer, and good example of that is Arlott or the usual setter giant trio (Mino, Grock and Tig) or just heroes that can easily pickoff an single target and can easily let the teammates to do the damage needed for an good pickoff roamer such as Chou, Kaja and Franco

I guess I'm gonna use him in the EXP lane once the Clock of Destiny, Queens Wings and Twlight Armor rework has been released to orig server. Main reason why I don't prefer him in roam is the jungle anti invade adjustment and that he has less utility provided compared to other meta tanks. In EXP Lane though, I think he can become a more valuable asset to the team.

whenever enemy use dyroth exp i always use hylos to counter him. he just got so much HP that pdeff shred from dyroth completely useless on him. always use vengence spell on him tho if you want to use him as exp laner

That's why I like playing him as a Jungler. He's so versatile. Only drawback is that his 2nd skill takes too slow to reach max stacks. But overall he's really good whether in Jungle, EXP Lane, or Roamer.

I recommend to buy elegant gem as first item, but dont upgrade to CoD and then sell it when you reach level 10-13. That way you will have good amount of hp in early game without spending so much gold.

people don’t pick him often cuz they prefer engage supports, Hylos is a support that playstyle is by staying side by side with your carrie so u can give peel to them, of course staying in front is important since his a front line, but never to distance from your core

i have Hylos as no.1 most played hero, but once i reach mythic 25+ i prefer mino, he is less tanky but more effective to cover your team (my mm party is a bit crazy🙂)

There was once a hylos player i played against buying corrosion and golden staff. It was really funny. I think he was trying to abuse the random apsd buff he has. He did surprising damage tbh

He doesn’t have the necessary tools to do a lick of anything to mobile heroes, which is most higher ranked picks. With the jungle changes he could be a great counter to invaders though.

One question should we buy black ice shield & not go for dominance ice in the early game against atk spd hero? Since dom. Ice has 80% atk spd red. While black ice has 90%

The old dominance ice is so much better... No one can scape hylos when 3 domi equipped your only option is to attack him... Imagine the old domi has debuff low attack speed and low move speed... Now inorder to achieved that debuff you need to attack the player with domi to activate the buff... 😢😢

Most annoying build for hylos is Tough Boots, Dominance Ice, Cursed Helmet, Ice Queen Wand, Radiant Armor, and Assault Cuirass, as for the last two items along with Cursed Helmet you can change those depending on the enemy lineup. Hylos is best used against enemy lineup composed of non-dash and basic attack reliant heroes

I think what really made Hylos an obsolete tri-FLEX pick is that, his kit is just..... meh compared to other FLEX picks such as Arlott and Guin that can dive into the backlines, sustain and make a game-changing set, which something he lacks in order to become an good FLEX pick. Though he can be cheezed against heroes that can be kited easily

A great adjustment on Hylos is that Moonton will increase the stun duration on his 1st skill depending on how long Hylos charges towards an enemy.

It's not that they forgot but it's just that many don't want to play roam/tank/support role especially in PH server. They would rather have two marksmen, mages, or junglers rather than fill that role. GG in PH server.

I prefer revitalize since it also helps teamates, and synergizes well with ult because of the 25% extra heal effect. But vengeance is also solid, esp vs assasins So matchup i guess, revi vs mostly sustain and vengeance vs burst heroes

Use vengeance when enemy uses moskov and Karrie use revitalize with oracle that's suits him the best trust me with the heal of ult and revitalize making you semi immortal for a few seconds plus with the additional effect of oracle he is the biggest tanky boi in FL
