Sadly it's because people are afraid to depict them in media because of outrage or cultural appropriation. It's expensive to hire consultants, and a lot of consultant companies are grifters that overcharge massively and force things into content as well. I'm a game designer but I do it all solo, and I'd love to include this incredible culture, but I can't afford to do it, so it just has to stay out of it because of this. Most other ancient cultures don't have 'living traditions' so they're safer to use, and I have Native American ancestry so I can 'somewhat safely' use them in my content, but sadly this is one of the few I can't touch.
