The last piece that Sean found, looks like the corner decoration off a photo frame or box lid. Usually, the frames are covered with a green or blue velvet and the silver highlights really pop. The boxes can also be velvet covered, but most were either wood or tortoiseshell.

The badge is a medal you get for attending the Fireman’s convention. NJ still gives them out annually to the state associations reps every September in Wildwood NJ.

Love the landscape there, that creek was beautiful and as always jealous of those beautiful open fields! We still havent found anything Barber, we have found Seated liberty but no Barbers yet! Very Awesome Hunt. Sean wow I thought the two Watch fobs were the best finds until you found that piece of Silver. Very Ornate and Beautiful. It looks like it would go on a corner of a book. Congrats on the 1913 Barber Dime and IHPs. Dave all the Military Buttons very nice. Jerry love the 1936 Dog Tag and Thimble. I just dug my first John Paul Jones 1792play money not to long ago. Congrats those are so cool. The Quarter Hoarder and the crew have dug in a soft he calls a Field of a Thousand Holes. They've dug a few of those Play Coins with other people on them. Take Care

we just moved into Western PA about 4 months ago from the Cape Cod, MA area.. we haven't been out to much. We're used to digging the beaches.. We own a lot that had two old school houses on it but haven't hit anything good yet.. thanks for the great videos awesome finds

Dignitaries, Heads of State and other Respected Persons had leather-bound ledgers, battle strategies etc., etc., to protect them from the weather and used the same oils and such to clean the leather that we do today (mostly made from animal fats). Leather-bound books date back to the beginning of the printed word. Those metal corners helped to preserve the leather from bending or rolling over on the edges.
