Very fun to see a video about my home here, just a little clarification you refer two territories a lot in this video, Canada is divided into provinces and territories, with the northernmost 3 being the territories (The Northwest Territories, the Yukon and Nunavut), I guess they're kind of all technically territories though but nobody here would call them that . The only real difference between them is the legislation that gave them their power. But ignoring that. I'm feeling ready to sleep and it's only 16:30

So cool to see a video on my home country! 😍🇨🇦 Also yes! Ottawa is the federal capitol of Canada, and Toronto is the capitol of Ontario, and the largest city in Canada. The eastern tip of Ottawa is right across the river from the Quebec border, and many people drive between the two provinces at that point for work and recreation. I grew up in a small town outside of Ottawa and a lot of us used to cross the border when we were 18 because we could legally drink in Quebec, but not Ontario. 😏

In school, they gave us this little trick to remember about ottawa and Toronto: Ottawa and Canada both finishes with an A; Ontario and Toronto both finishes with an O. :)

As large as Vancouver island is, it is only like 43rd or something in size. Baffin Island, Victoria Island, and Ellesmere Island in the north do make the top 10 though.

I believe the Canadian border is perfectly straight in that area. It is divided at the 49th parallel.

16:29 omg of course they cut off the rest of Newfoundland 😭💀 depending on how old your map is, it would make sense since NL joined Canada in 1949, but because of that fact we tend to be an afterthought to the rest of the country... LOL (by the way, Newfoundland is pronounced the same way as "understand") and yes you're also right about the island of France, it's called saint pierre et Miquelon and it's located off the burin peninsula. I also think it's interesting because in your video about the UK, you said it takes about 8 hours to drive to Scotland from where you live-- it takes 3 hours longer to drive from the most easterly point (cut off by the map lol), St. John's, to the most westerly point of NL, St Anthony. Our island is actually pretty big!

i'm a viewer from saanich bc on vancouver island and i highly recommend doing a video on the island it has a lot of really cool geography such as the saanich inlet and nootka sound. My favourite is personally the town of tofino on the east side of the island

Also, I thought it might interest you to read about the US enclaves along the US border which require US citizens to drive into Canada to reach, even though they belong to the US. If I recall correctly, they exist largely due to flaws in the agreement when the border was agreed upon; they hadn’t considered certain peninsulas and bodies of water when they agreed to a relatively straight line-and they ended up cutting off areas that should by all logic belong to Canada. Locations such as Point Roberts and Angle Inlet. They faced some very unique challenges during the pandemic, when cross-border traffic was halted. There’s also a town (Rock Island, QC) in which the international border runs right through the middle of the local library. Look into it!
