Team First Time Fishing go looking for their first National Title in the ‪@TheMAPChannel‬ UK Pole Championship Final 2023.
With both Daz and Grant qualifying from the Packington Somers qualifier in July, both progressed to the final at ‪@Marstonfieldsfishery‬ where they looked to become the 2023 Champion.
Big Bird follows both Daz and Grant through the Match to see if one of the Team can frame in this eagerly anticipated UK Match Fishing National Final.
Can they pull off a victory, or get close to the many MAP prizes on offer and pull off a result at Team First Time Fishing's first ever event?!

Just watched this morning. Big bird, with every video you upload, you raise the bar yet again. Excellent video, really good commentary. Well done to Grand and Daz, both of you got to the finals so your both winners in my book.

Appreciate that Neil… I suppose I’m learning too with all this filming… it was a little easier for me in the final, cause I could focus on the filming aspect and had control of the cameras 🎥… but when I’m in front of it, I don’t have anyone to manoeuvre it… makes it difficult 🤷🏻‍♂️ BB

Cracking video big bird and the lads,, what pole was grant using looks mint as im in the market for a new one,, also big bird what pole do you reccomend forfishing at 13m and odd 14.5 thanks

Thanks buddy, he’s using the Daiwa Air Z Pro… pricey, but one of the best in the business! It’s a bit hard to recommend when I don’t know for what price bracket, cause if you want the best, it’s the Air Z Pro for me… but if you’re looking at what we would call “affordable”… the Preston range are fantastic poles! The MTX range is good, and I have the MTX 3, but I have used many, and my pick at the moment would be a Preston superium pole…. but I would recommend to anyone to make sure you hold it in a shop first! 👍🏻 BB

Big bird , can I ask for a bit of advice again, please? I'm looking for a pole for the Canal and was thinking about the Matrix MTX E2 or the Diawa MW 2 or MW 3 . Nothing to experience because I've no experience really in pole fishing. Any advice would be greatly appreciated .. Oh, and was there an issue with a section breaking on the MTX Poles

Hi Hugh, I’ve literally only heard of 2 new Matrix poles breaking from the anglers I know, and one of those it sounds like most poles may not have stood up to the job of landing the foul hooked double figure carp. You’re probably not going to like me now, but in the unlikely situation I had won the euromillions and had the money to do so, if I was to have a dedicated canal pole, I’d have an MAP… it’s one of the most rigid poles I’ve used, don’t get me wrong, due to the Rigidness, it doesn’t bend like other poles, but it’s absolutely ideal for canal tench, roach, perch etc… out of the 2 you’ve mentioned, I’d say the Matrix is better suited as a commercial Pole… that’s just my opinion from how I’ve found the poles 👍🏻 let me know what you choose, but if it is a dedicated canal/silvers/traditional winter fishing pole… take a look at the MAP 301 or 401 👍🏻 BB

@FirstTimeFishing hi BB . Thanks for pointing me in the right direction. The pole won't be totally 100% for the canal. But I just thought it would be a good place to start..
