here here on ML buckings!! I was told about these and stuck one (Macaron) in my L96 with the Omega nub and voila the inherent issue with L96 rifles shooting left went away, my fps increased and accuracy improved by 45%., i now recommend these to everyone having accuracy issues. Ive also installed these echo 1 psr's(autobots) with the AA hopup chamber and solved issues with accuracy and range. They, however, WILL NOT work in anything with a prowin hopup without modification. The shoulders of the bucking are too stiff and either the bucking or the prowin will have to be modified, else you will have feeding issues. As for the M700, AA just came out with a new hopup chamber for them in 2019 and the Ml's will work with the omega nubs using that chamber. Solved a lot of consistency issues with the M700. Lastly I disagree the 75's work great, the 80;s I also use and they work fine but you will see problems with air seal in a short time.All my guns shoot in excess of 400fps and dictate the use of these 2 buckings. ive never tried anything lower because I havent seen a need.

We are using Maple Leaf Autobot + ML concave nub + ML inner barrels in our WE GBB AKs and SVD, and the results are out of this world. Best precision combo ever. From my personal experience the Deltas are just decent while the Diamonds are awesome, as the latter provides extreme range. I prefer the new Autobot/Decepticon series for the included ABB ring, as it really grips the nozzle, something critical for GBB consistency. Might not be that necessary for bolt action snipers though. As for durability, I've seen no difference between the old and the new, it's just getting the correct hardness. The manufacture's guideline is pretty useful for that.

First of all, fantastic video for beginners who don't fully understand how hop up works. Second, I installed a Maple Leaf Monster 50 (pale green) in my Evo today. I am assuming that it is a new design as the mound is not a simple triangle but more of a kite shape, it didn't come with a nub. I wasn't happy with how it looked using a standard nub. Fortunately I had a H nub (solid not squishy) in my box of bits so installed that, the results are amazing. I am getting around an extra 10 meters range and the accuracy has improved from a 7" grouping at 30 meters to a 4" grouping at 30 meters. I haven't been able to test it's maximum effective range yet as my garden isn't long enough. I will report back after bedding in and proper testing.

First very informative video ! Question I have a gbb mk18 it’s WA based system and I upgraded my hop up chamber and inner barrel which is vsr no bridge but the hop up unit came with a Tokyo Marui rubber that looks like a maple leaf rubber just dimensions not the patch on the inside but basically it doesn’t have the extra material on the outside it completely smoothe but it’s definitely not an aeg rubber . I have a pdi W hold rubber I want to install but idk if it ok to remove that extra material so it will fit in the chamber . The fact that I have a vsr open window cut barrel I was under the assumption I could use the pdi without any modifications. I’m just curious if it is possible to remove that extra material on the outside so it smooth all the way around like the TM rubber that came with the unit ?? Any help is greatly appreciated

Hi, I know this is an old video, but it was very helpful, thank you! I had a question regarding the hardness of the bucking. You recommend 60°, but I think it could also depend on the power of the rifle. My airsoft field allows 3.5J snipers, so that's what I'm aiming at (no pun intended). Is 60° still gonna perform well and last more than a few shots?

IMHO it is _very_ tricky to get the older PDI hop-up units working just right. I still ended up with a right hook in an upgraded Maruzen Type 96 clone. You almost have to start all over again setting the unit up when you change BB weight. Having two hop adjustment arms _sounds_ great but it's a pain.

So I have an Action Army Hop Chamber and the maple leaf bucking is about 1mm shorter and with it fitted is terrible so went back to the original VSR bucking and it's fine. I read somewhere that you have to put tape around the inner barrel where the AA chamber collar goes to push the bucking further in, did you have to do this ?
@Relizu
@Relizu 7 жыл бұрын
17lasbrisas yes, that's one of the flaws of the ML, they're indeed about 1 mm shorter so if you don't use teflon tape your airseal will be horrible. Wrap it in teflon tape a few times and then reinstall it, when you insert the spacer this will squish the teflon tape between the spacer and the bucking, which results in the bucking being pushed backwards, which results in 100% airseal. Try it, you'll love it :)

I just got a PDI 6.01 Barrel with the new 10MM diameter that avoids vibration. I was very excited about this hop you talk about until I arrived to the part where I should cut the end of the barrel's hopup window as it is not open. After speding a lot of money on the barrel, I am afraid I could break it. Whay solution would you recommend? Cutting the window as it is not that difficult? Or switching to another kind of hop-up?
@Relizu
@Relizu 7 жыл бұрын
Kotobukian 寿庵 I'd file the bridge off, yes. It's really not hard and the maple leaf is well worth it. You can't really mess it up :tup: However, if you ever want to do an R-hop in the future, then I wouldn't do it as it is very hard to R-hop an open barrel window. But honestly the maple leaf is just about as good so I'd just take it off and use the maple leaf :)

Sorry for the late answer. But yes, basically the ML (AEG version) will be the best option, but I'd use 60 degrees instead. The W hold or any other bucking will also lift .3's at that fps but the maple leaf will be more consistent and accurate ;)

Just finished up my R hop plus m nub barrel setup. If you cut a really long m Nub for flat hop it works surprisingly well. I Got a maybe 5 to 10% advantage from R hopping my gun over it( Currently over hopping to about 175 to 185 feet at roughly man sized spread. but part of my hop window is curved on the tight bore I was using making it Nigh impossible to cut a perfect patch. on top of it my patch material was slightly to thick. At this Point I think the stock GnG Hop unit is the only thing holding back the hop. So my current plan is to A buy another tightbore barrel this time with a different hop window, after that a better made hop unit. and after that try out maple leaf bucking settup to contrast and compare, past that its airseal in the guts of my gun witch I really dont like taking apart.

Hey! Is it true that 6.01mm inner diameter barrels are not a good choice for long range ? Thanks!
@Relizu
@Relizu 8 жыл бұрын
Not really. Range has nothing to do with your barrel choice, and while effective range (accuracy) does depend on your barrel quality, it does not depend on bore size generally. Assuming you're using perfect ammo. If you're not using perfect ammo, wider bores will help your accuracy due to the air cushion effect, but at a cost of efficiency (more air is lost). But using quasi-perfect ceramic bb's, people have achieved some of the longest shots with 5.98mm super-tightbores, and all the other records were shot with 6.03 or similar bores. Something to keep in mind. Under normal circumstances, 6.01 will work just fine ;)

Amaethon for the gbbr's it's the same story, you'll need the ML nub. In your case the autobot will work better by the way, the anti-blow ring helps grabbing a gbbr nozzle which will improvr your fps consistency, so if the monster wears out, you might wanna consider switching :)

As long as it goes down the slot it is inserted correctly. I don't think you can really mess it up. The nub is as wide as the nub window so as long as it's inside the slot it is good. Alignment is the bucking itself. It should sit straight in the chamber. It's pretty hard to mess up with the VSR buckings because they have an alignment ridge but it's possible and could cause a slight left or right hook if it isn't properly aligned.

Goede buckings :)

I have 60° diamond buckings in 2 of my gbb pistols both with maple leaf I-keys and they perform absolutely amazing. Tried the autobot and decepticon and didn't care for them so I'm sticking with the monster buckings

HI, i have the silverback srs, and i wanted to upgrade the bucking and I have used maple leaf diamond for my vsr before, but not the maple leaf aeg buckings. Would 60 degree maple leaf aeg bucking be good to use. I have an aps m160 spring installed and thats around 520 fps. Also, do I need the concave maple leaf nub for the maple leaf aeg bucking to work, or will the standard silverback nub work?

You may have to DIY a nub as the standard SRS nub is not concave. Other than that it'll work :)

+Relizu But instead of diy my owm nub can i use maple leafs concave nub?
@Relizu

John John You could in theory, but it won't work very well with the SRS double adjuster.
@riift9574
@riift9574 6 жыл бұрын
oh yeah I understand that, there is actually a mod for the srs called the fast hop that fixes that problem. Its a dile that you turn to either move the hop arm up or down so its not come from 2 sides anymore, just the top, so i think the maple leaf nub could work. Thanks for the help! :)

Hey Relizu/Reliku ;p In the AA hop up chamber, do you need to mill out the window the nub goes through? It seems the nub is too wide for the small window the nub needs to go through.. a prometheus tensioner also didnt fit. And the original VSR10 nub just barely fits. The ML concave nub seems to be much wider then the original nub. Is the window of my AA chamber not as wide as yours or something?
@Relizu
@Relizu 7 жыл бұрын
Arjen Huijtker The ML concave nub is a perfect fit for the AA chamber. If it doesn't fit, you may have a lemon nub or chamber. But you don't need to mill anything or do any modifying at all.

CJ R. A 50 or 60 degree autobot works well in pistols. The autobot is better in gbb guns compared to the diamond because of the anti blow ring, so when it comes to anything gbb, the autobot is the best :)

(Edit Sorry For the Spam if you Got alot of Notification... had a weird youtube glitcfh where it posted my comment a million times) Just finished up my R hop plus m nub barrel setup.

PDI-W hold from what I've seen are just as good as a flat hop. VSR-10 that is, I haven't tried the AEG design out because... gross, AEG's. The diamond Maple Leaf looks super promising though, I mostly came here to learn about the concave nub paired with the maple leaf. The faster wearing rubber likely grips better btw. Meaning less grip needed. PDI-W softer buckings grip way better than the harder ones and they do wear out faster.

Relizu i think evike lied. It says 75 is for shooting 330 to 400.
@Relizu
@Relizu 6 жыл бұрын
dat boi yes evike simply copies maple leaf's chart. Which is wrong for 90% of the western world. That chart is for tropical climates where it's much hotter (Asia), hotter weather => harder bucking. For 400 fps, I would use 50 degrees (softest they offer) where I live (western europe). If you live somewhere warmer you could go for 60 degrees with 400 fps, or maybe even 70 if you live in the southern part of the US for example. But usually, 75 degrees is waaaay too hard for 400 fps. For reference: here we play at 500 fps (measured with .2), and I play with .4 bb's at roughly 2.5 J myself. In the summer I play with a 60 degree bucking, in the winter I swap it out for a 50 degree one ;)

Relizu very interesting. I do live in texas and the summers are really hot here. I have it taken out right now and will wait until it is hotter outside to try it again. Either way i am doing the spring as mine has had several thousand rounds put on it and i need the extra power for outdoors. You know a lot about hop up buckings. I actually didnt have the right nub previously and that was part of the problem. I just needed to watch the video more, and also not listen to evike.

Thank you! this video really helped me a lot to understand how each of the buckings work and what the differences are. I want to switch the whole Hop up chamber of my VSR-10 to a new one which uses AEG barrels and buckings, but im unsure if i need a maple leaf nub for aeg maple leaf buckings, because the hop up unit has 2 seperate arms to adjust the hop up.

Ok thx for the quick reply. My problem is vsr tuning barrels in this length are quiet expensive. I use a vsr 10 clone (Well MB03) and im not sure which barrel length i have to use. My standard barrel is 509mm so do i need exactly the same length? Which barrel do you use and how long is it?
@Relizu

dante257 Just use a 430 and drill out the end cap. 509 mm is too long for .4+ bb's anyway

Ok, maybe you can help me once more :'D I installed the AA chamber in my Well MB03 with a vsr-10 barrel and the standard bucking because the company send me the wrong maple leaf buckings :/ I now have the problem that my magazines dont really fit in my rifle anymore. Sometimes i cant get them in and if i can get them in they hang kinda loose :( DId I do something wrong or is it something with the chamber?
@facundocorradini
@facundocorradini 8 жыл бұрын
btw, the maple leaf arm doesn't have QC issues, it is purposely designed with oversized tabs that *must* be filed down to perfectly suit your chamber, as the VSR chambers tolerances (specially in the many, many clones) are all over the place.
@Relizu
@Relizu 8 жыл бұрын
I've seen some that were entirely off-center while others weren't, which definitely qualifies as QC issues in my book! :P

Sorry to multipost, I was commenting as I watched the video and read your post at ASF... The AEG buckings are Deltas and therefore not-so-good, but you missed the other option: for AEG use (and that includes the most popular L96s chambers) you can go with Maple Leaf Hybrid buckgins, which are Diamond buckings that fit in AEG chambers together with Maple Leaf GBB inner barrels. Haven't tried that option yet (I'm a GBB guy p) but theoretically it should work great.
@Relizu
@Relizu 8 жыл бұрын
That's true, those do work, but they don't align as well in AEG chambers because an AEG-specific chamber is built to lock down the barrel and have the bucking lock over that. A non-AEG barrel can't be locked down in such a chamber as well. This is also why VSRs are yet again better. The barrel is locked down AND the bucking is locked down seperately ;)

Longyat Chan I did mention these but I do not recommend them: -The nub is softer than a metal arm and yields better consistency -The arms suffer from quality control issues (not fitting, being off-center, stuff like that) An AA chamber is easier and has other benefits as well (such as airseal and TDC style hopup).
