The media do not make him his millions. His skill and the fans do that. I personally don't mind when players clap back at shitty reporters. These guys will trash the players in their columns and on their shows at the drop of a hat. Trash reporters (Steve Simmons is the post child) do not deserve any respect from the players or the coaches. Respect is something you earn. Guys like Simmons and Bourne here in Toronto or Mark Spector and Jim Matheson here in Edmonton deserve every bristle they ever get from a player or a coach. Search Draisaitl Spector on here and watch that exchange. Mitch is hardly the 1st guy to take jabs back at them. Phil did it all the time. And before anyone suggests it, I'm not a marner Stan. He'd be my 1st trade if I was made GM. He's not mentally strong enough to play in his hometown. To be fair, not many guys are cut out for it. Go to each team and look at how many local boys are on each. It's whole other level of pressure. Mitch claims to block out the noise, but it's clear that he doesn't. For his own sanity he should play anywhere else except in our division.

My view of the media that covers sports is this, if you're gonna stir the shit pot you will occasionally get some shit on you. Good reporters get good sound bites from athletes. Trash reporters get garbage sound bites.

Different group. All but core 5 left. Those kids are hard to play bad on a line with. They are infectiously hardworking. Plus domi and Bertuzzi have too much fight in the playoffs to make a top line centre back down. They give you confidence you're going to break through. This series has been all defense and goal tending. Which the leafs did great on the former given they are horrifically under invested. If they are planning on making big d core moves, this team is going to be lethal next year. As for goal tending, sammy is either incredible or unplayable. No in-between. Swayman is a monster. This team should have been dead in 4 games.

Panthers rode momentum almost too a cup and they have half the forward talent this team has
